Does the job. easy to install. prints out black and white

Print quality is great at first, but the ink seems to run out a little fast. It starts with nice dark crisp lines but long before it runs out, the black starts to fade and blank streaks start to appear. DPI seems to be reduced before the ink is out.

I purchased this standard yield toner no even a month ago and its expected to last up to 1200pages, after printing 4 set of docs with average of 170 pages, the toner is running low and is requesting replacement which I am very disappointed for not meeting the expected life of the tone. Shame on this Brother product, I don't recommended it to purchase TN-420 Brother toner cartridge. Thanks.

I switched to the new cartridge, but the printer didn't recognize it as such. Went back to the old one, then back to the new one, and back to the old one again before I had any success. Got a couple of weeks more printing from the old cartridge, then switched back yet again to the new cartridge and now that one works fine. Go figure. Especially since I specifically used the Brother brand because it would be sure to reset the printer :) Previous cartridges have been fine, but based on this one, I would not recommend it.

What can you say - i installed it & it worked. That's about all you can ask of a toner cartridge.

This cartridge prints well. However, it doesn’t last long.

if you print 1 page a couple of times a week, this toner is fine if you print 40 50 pages a week this toner will run out quickly. If you print even moderately buy the xl version

Cartridge runs out of ink pretty quickly. Larger cartridge for this printer does not last much longer and is more expensive

Can't give a high rating to any toner cartridge because they are all over-priced.

I print a lot of notes for school and the toner usually lasts me quite a bit before I have to replace it.

i used it for personal printing and it only last a year, but not that expensive so it lasts what you pay...

I don't know if it's a good product. I was never able to get the printer to work.

The high yield toner cartridge is a better buy. You get more print pages for your dollar.

Expensive to replace every time ink goes out, should be cheaper option.

Low toner but I can keep printing but works really well.

It's a basic product, nothing to expect too much out of. Works as intended.

The print quality is great on this printer and the cartridges are easy to load. But... The printer came with the standard toner cartridge (1,200 page yield) and I purchased an additional cartridge for good measure. The initial cartridge printed only one ream of paper (500 pages) when the printer stopped printing and gave me a 'Replace Tone' message. The replacement toner also lasted through one ream of paper before it stopped printing and gave the 'Replace Toner' message. I am going to try the high yield cartridge and hope for greater printing throughput.
