This Cat 6a shielded Ethernet patch cable - also sold as a Cat6a LAN cable, internet cable or RJ45 network cord - carries high speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet across the full 100 m the standard allows, over a 24 AWG stranded bare copper core rated to 500 MHz. An F/UTP foil screen surrounds all four twisted pairs, which is what lets Cat6a hold 10GBASE-T at distance where an unshielded cable gives alien crosstalk room to build. Each RJ45 plug uses 50-micron gold-plated contacts wired to T568B, and a snagless molded boot protects the locking tab inside a dense patch field. Backward compatible with Cat 5e and Cat6 ports, so it can go in ahead of the switch upgrade. Compatible with Cisco, Netgear, TP-Link, Ubiquiti, Linksys, ASUS, Synology and QNAP equipment. Stocked in 1, 3, 5, 7, 10ft, 14, 15, 25, 50, 75 and 100 ft - short jumpers through long Ethernet cables between racks. Measure the path the cable travels, not the straight line. Best for: 10 Gigabit uplinks, server rooms and patch panels. Not for: in-wall runs or outdoors.

RJ45 contacts are plated with 50 microinches of gold and wired straight through to T568B. Backward compatible with Cat 6 and Cat 5e equipment, so the cabling can be upgraded before the switches are.
Cat 6a earns its 10 Gigabit rating over 100 m largely by controlling alien crosstalk - interference bleeding between cables bundled next to each other. The F/UTP foil screen around all four pairs is what does that work. It matters most in exactly the place 10G tends to live: a dense patch field, a metal rack, or a tray shared with power cabling.

The usual way a patch cable dies is the plastic release tab shearing off, after which the plug will not stay seated. A molded snagless boot covers that tab so it does not catch on a bundle or a panel edge as the cable is drawn back out. In a dense patch field that is the difference between a cable you can reuse and one you throw away.
