It’s a great game in general. Multiplayer is the best in years IMO and add in the BR Blackout and Zombies and it’s one of the best out but the servers suck and the game freezes a lot so it only gets 3 stars.

This game brings back a ton of the old maps we grew to love back during the World at War series.

Don't let the title of my review scare you away but the developers did show some real gall by omitting the campaign from this years outing. At first I was a little taken aback as I have always bought and enjoyed COD for their exciting campaigns along with all of the multiplayer goodness. That being said, they replaced the campaign with Blackout which is their take on the battle royale genre. I was skepitical at first but played the beta and was instantly hooked. I can see myself putting a lot of hours into this game and mode in particular. Good stuff Treyarch!

The short version: It's another black ops game. You get what you get. Ultimately it's a solid game if you've enjoyed hopping on any of the Black Ops games either alone or with friends. If you're heavy into the campaign you may be disappointed with the lack of it here but there's still plenty to do in other game modes. Zombies is solid, nothing ground breaking but still solid. Battle Royale is interesting to say the least. I was initially against the game mode but it eventually won me over after a few rounds. Overall, back to my original statement, it is what it is.

I was always a fan of campaigns in Call of Duty games, and I was a little disappointed when I heard this game didn't have one. However, I'm a big fan of PUGB but I could never get over how buggy it is even to this day. The new Blackout mode more than makes up for the missing campaign. As I get older I find myself just hoping in and out of a few multiplayer games here and there anyway. I'm not the biggest zombies fan, but Teryarch does it best. The multiplayer ads enough value to make this a worthwhile purchase for me.

We'll start with cons: no story/campaign ... We all knew that though. Pros: graphics are great What the story doesn't give us it makes up in 3 different ways of online play. The known zombie apocalypse, my fav. Multiplayer dewthmatch, and the newly added pubg/fortnite style, blackout... I like it better than pubg for sure but can't speak for the other since never played it. Simply put or literally it's COD's version of those games and blew them out the water highly recommend game!!

Ok first off I almost passed up on this when I found out there wouldn't be a campaign but i ended up giving in and glad i did the multiplayer is fun frustrating, but fun and blackout mode is fun as well even if i do suck at it lol and of course my favorite mode zombies the new experience is awesome zombie expert's like me will love it as well. Overall the game is great all around I'm giving it a 4 star rating just cause I'm still salty of it not having a campaign.

This is the best version of CoD ever if you’re looking strictly at multiplayer. The traditonal modes like team deathmatch, kill comfirmed and domination are all there plus new Battle Royal mode called Blackout. But... and it’s a big but, there’s no single player campaign. No story. Nothing. Nada! Only the zombies arcade mode. Still, with no single player story campaign I feel it’s a great experience for multiplayer aficionados. Recommended!

No single player campaign is very disappointing but what you get here is some of the best call of duty multiplayer and zombies. And if you’re into battle royale this is one of the best first person versions of it. Gameplay is smooth as always and is fun with friends. Zombies has some of the best maps in years. And blackout is great experience in of itself. 1 star gone for no story.. maybe next time?

I haven't played CoD since Black Ops 2. When I got this game, I didn't realize it didn't have a campaign. So I felt a little ripped off to pay full price (plus season pass) for a multiplayer-only game. On top of that, they recycled old maps. But to be honest, it's still entertaining. Blackout is an interesting take on Battle Royale. I still enjoy CoD.

COD over the years has been very stale. Finally this year the Treyarch crew changed things up a bit and worked solely on the MP side of the game and passed on SP. They also jumped on the battle royale band wagon with Blackout mode. The MP overall just feels better this time around and they worked on the Zombies mode a bit more to make it more fun.

This is the best call of duty in a long time. There are ton of options from traditional multiplayer to zombies to the battle Royal mode called blackout. Every mode plays extremely well. The reason it is not 5 stars because there is no single player. So if you do not like to play online against other players, you should skip this one

No real definitive single player campaign which I am disappointed about. (Reason why gave 4 stars) Multiplayer (new heist game mode) and Zombies are very good and have been stepped up from earlier iterations. Blackout is a great and welcome addition to the franchise.

One of my biggest concerns with Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 what's the fact that they were removing the campaign. However have to plan the game for the last 48 hours, I see it is not needed. The game play mechanics and upgrades over Black Ops 3 or simply amazing. There is no wall running so it's more boots on the ground and I believe that pays homage to the Call of Duty Roots more than ever. there's so many different game modes so many different game styles that you always have stuff to do. Blackout wow, think of it as she but with a smooth frame rate. This is territory that I never thought Call of Duty sink its teeth in. But it was well worth the bite. You can literally spend hundreds of hours playing black out and not get tired of it. The level design and the occlusion of former maps from previous Call of Duty's all makes up the Battle Royale gigantic landscape. There was no new mechanics to learn because it felt just like Call of Duty from the past. Even joining a squad with random people who I've never met, I still enjoyed the experience. There was no Lone Wolf tactic, we worked as a team and it showed when we receive the victory. With the inclusion of zombies that just makes something for everybody. I've never been a fan of the zombie mode, but from what I've played so far it really shines. Each character that you encounter has a little story line. That brings depth to the people that you come across with in the game mode. Call of Duty Black Ops for refreshing breath of air into the series. Can't wait for the updates and DlC the further expand my experience with the game. Thank you Treyarch and Activision for delivering once again. This game is a must buy for any first-person shooter, Call of Duty fan, or gamer that just want to have fun or competitive like myself.

Goes back to barebones gameplay of the originals. Lacks dolphin dive tho so I can’t give it a perfect review. Also no campaign mode but the the depth of zombies mode pretty much makes up for it. Blackout is fun too.

Boots on the ground! I love this aspect...except in the Blackout mode, which is the shining star. Jumping in the Battle Royale genre with this polished, exciting entry. The flight into the action is smooth and fast, tight gun play. Inventory management is my only gripe. Zombies is back and better than what was included in WWII. Great maps, interesting dialogue, fun characters, and plenty of great gameplay mechanics. 3 zombies maps included with launch! Multiplayer is fast paced but not the most enticing part of the game. Boots on the ground, but still more fast paced. I miss "War" mode from WWII, but still a decent experience. The special moves can be a tad annoying, but that's comes with the Black Ops territory.
