The Canon #5 black ink is easy to use and install and provides a clog-free ink supply for the Canon MX series of printers. It's a larger cartridge than the #8 series, so make sure you know what you're buying. (The others in the series in the #8 series - Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow - are smaller cartridges.)

OEM ink is always expensive. Then again all ink is expensive and seems to need refilled too often. I haven't printed enough pages yet to say how long the black cartridge lasts. But, I will be buying the color ink from BB.
