I first bought the f2.8 lens in this range, which is a very good lens. I wasn't using that lens as much to justify the price, so I switched to the f4. I think the f4 is priced better and doesn't seem as heavy and awkward to use when taking wide angle shots at different focal lengths. The zoom capability is nice when you can't move your body (e.g. sitting on bleachers at a basketball game). If you take a lot of low light photos, then maybe this lens might not work as well for you. I also carry several prime lenses of different focal lengths to use indoors. I am happy with the image quality and I'm glad that I have this lens in my camera bag.

Very pleased with the lens, which is my 1st upscale lens after the standard EFS 18-55mm that came with Canon T3i camera. Very solid construction, when compared to the plastic EFS 18-55mm.

I highly recommend this lens. I own a Canon EOS M3 (mirrorless) and have the kit 18-55mm, 50mm F1.8 STM, and added the 24-70mm F4 to the set. My search for a zoom was filtered down to the 24-105mm and 24-70mm F4 (24-70mm F2.8 was out of my price point). Ended up with the 24-70mm F4 after lots of research. picture quality is excellent and solid bokeh. Slightly smaller than 24-105, which I appreciate, especially since I'm using the lens on a small mirroless body. It's a bit large and heavy on the mirrorless but definitely worth adding to the collection. Next lens will be a wide body zoom.

before I placed order for 24-70 F4 lens, I struggled with the following lens: 24-70 F2.8 - too expensive but highest performance, overweight 24-105 F4 24-70 F4 I likes its features such as: MACRO funtion, IS feature Lightweight and upon most occasions,I take photo outside for landscape, portrait. so finally I selected the 24-70 F4 lens.

I like the size and sharpness compared to the 24-105 v1. If you need an extra stop of light then the 24-70 2.8 ii is the one but this is a great standard zoom.

Well built lens, quick focus. A little on the expensive side though.

The family and individual portraits that I have taken have been perfect. Everyone has raved about them. The IS on this lens is my favorite part! I can be moving around, when following a newly walking baby and still capture them perfectly.

I was in search of a high quality lens for my canon DSLR. I wanted something that I could carry on hikes and would be compact and versatile. It is a good overall lens and well built. It has survived 2 overnight trips and 6 day hikes. It has provided some outstanding photos. Once on sale it is a bit more easier to swallow price wise.

I bought this lens on a recommendation from a friend. It was perfect for me for traveling and needing this lens only. Portrait to landscape the lens did both well. The AF is quiet and quick enough for shooting video and pics on the move. I use this lens with an canon 80d, did well for my travels.
