I bought a Canon EOS 70D to replace my aging 20D and was excited about the video shooting capabilities. Trying to shoot video with my Tamron Di-II lens... I quickly realized that the auto-focusing of the lens was being picked up by the microphones on the camera. It was Noisy! I didn't realize how much noise the lens (searching for focus) makes until it was all I could hear when I played back the video. Google research time and I found out that Canon created a new quiet lens series with STM motor technology... extremely quiet. I bought one through Best Buy, tried it out in the quietest room in the house I could find, and upon playback of the test videos, no auto focus motor sound on the video. Even shooting stills, it is absolutely quiet and seems to auto focus much quicker too. Get this lens, so far it fits all my shooting needs and the image stabilizer when using zoom is a nice feature that I didn't have on the Tamron either. Overall I am extremely pleased with this purchase, no regrets whatsoever.

I use a canon t3i. i should have bought this lens with the t3i body instead of getting the 18-55mm kit lens. I understand that using this lens with t3i won't be able to use the auto-focus function in video mode. But i don't shoot video that often so this won't bother me at all. This lens is heavier than the 18-55mm lens this won't bother neither. I am a beginner but this lens makes my pictures look like that they are taken by a professional photographer! It is very easy to use even for a beginner. The feature that I like most in this lens is the auto-focus feature in photo mode. It is quiet and fast!

You like to take good pictures and you don't want to spend a lot of money, because it's only a hobby for you, not your profession. However, you care about good quality for your images than this is the lens to acquire.

Great lens tht the camera should come with. But since in most cases it doesn't, replace stock 18-55 with this, will be convienient and better learning.

This lens is just what i was looking for. It has more range that the one that comes with the camera but not so much range that I can't take a quick close up shot as well. Enjoying this lens.

While on a road trip, I realized my camera battery died and I did not pack an extra. We dspotted a Best Buy store and I walked inside in search of a camera battery and walked out with my new lens. This zoom lens is now my favorite lens, it's lightweight and captures the most detailed images!

I bought this lens to use for a cruise and it meet all my expectations; was easy to use and focused great.

My local Best Buy won my business. I didn't want to wait for an Internet retailer to ship so I stopped by a local store. Although they did not have the lens either, the service and price match made the wait worthwhile. The lens is fabulous and is now our primary choice when taking pics around town and Best Buy will be our first stop for gear.

I got this lens as I do not need to change the 18-55 with 55-200 lens all the time. This lens has awesome picture quality is a great buy!

This is a great lens for zooming in, even if you're shooting detailed buildings or landscape.

The detail captured through this lens is of high quality!

Over all this is great lens little pricey for just a 18 to 135 at 600 bit nice if went to 175 and bit more wide angle for that price.I certainly will get a lot of use in my photography out of this lens.

I enjoy the flexibility of still and video shots with this camera.

Great walk around lens for most situations. The lens is nice and sharp around F8.
