Good product for my camera, the lens has a small defect in it leaving a tiny bright spot on all of my pictures.
This review is from Canon - EF50mm F1.8 STM Standard Prime Lens for EOS DSLR Cameras - Black

Great starter lens compared to the more expensive 50mm 1.4 or 1.2 lens. Ok background blur and bokeh

Open box marked as excellent but came missing front lense cover, other than that works great and one of my favorite lenses

Pros: Price, good for portraits, good for the beginners. Cons: Autofocus makes loud noise (For me it's not a problem at all).

I like to take good quality photos with minimal knowledge and talent. I thought this lens would give me better quality photos in low light settings. I was not used to having to move around to get the right distance from my subject. This caused me to have slightly blurry photos. I went back to the zoom lens since it's simpler and fits my needs. I'm going to recommend this lens for those with more knowledge of photography than me.

This lens is ok to get you by if you can't afford the 1.4 but I ended up returning it after using once. If you've used the 1.4 version you won't be able to step back to this but if you're in a pinch and need a decent, lightweight cheap lens this one works just fine.

Takes good family portraits. I used it for my family reunion

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Standard Lens is great for portraits but if you want to use for video, the auto focus is loud and slow.

This was a good buy buy. I have started photography and it has help a lot.

The focus is very fast and accurate for photography but the manual focus is slow being that it is a focus by wire system , ending up having to return it.

It served its purpose (bokeh). Since is doesn't have any stabilization, it doesn't work well using slower shutter speeds unless you have a stand.

You get what you pay for, cheap plastic body, slow and a bit load when hunting around, but can also get awesome quality images.

Haven't tried this out enough yet to be sure if it's ultimate value to me but it looks good so far. So many new things to try.

The 50 mm Canon lens doesn't have a whole lot of features but is a good budget 50 mm lens!

I’m not a pro but I honestly was t impressed with this lense I feel like the original one that came with my camera is much better, I thought this would catch more light and not as much shadow in the face like the tutorials I had seen on YouTube but my original lense had a better quality photo in my opinion.
