I waited a log time for Canon to come out with this lens and it was well worth the wait. This is such a creative tool but I will say the learning curve is steep. Why you say? You have to really watch that you don't get unwanted things in the photo such as your feet or tripod legs. Trial and error is the key here. Once you start learning how to use this lens the possibilities are endless. This lens is so sharp and the color is nothing short of amazing. I have only had this for 2 months now and I am finding a completly new view of shooting. I am using this on a Canon 60D at the moment but am waiting to try the new full frame 6D when it comes out. I would say buy this lens if you want to start exploring a whole new area of photography.

fun, fun and more fun with bending lines... It is great lens for both - full frame body (I used it on 5D) and on crop sensor like 7D, 60D and lower. I did couple pictures with my 7D and actually you can have more use of this lens on crop sensor camera ... I mean if you don't want to have those black corners you can use it from 9mm till 15mm. Reflection are very well managed - I did few pictures with the sun in the frame and pictures are still great. Lens is very sharp and can create very dramatic pictures!

I love fish-eye lenses in general and really like this one. I'm currently using this with a crop-sensor frame (T4i); at its widest setting, you'll get solid black corners (like vignetting, but...solid). Pricey, but I got it in sale at BB and saved $360. Great for a creative spin on all sorts of photography, from candid portraits to landscapes.

This lens may just revolutionize your photography. With it you can get a whole new perspective on your subject. Used carefully, it can help add life to your portfolio. With a 180 degree view, it is like no other lens from Canon. It is sharp, weather proof, solidly built, and so much fun to use! The only downsides: The front lens element is exposed, so you have to be careful, and it is easy to create cliche fish-eye images. You have to work to make great images.

If you are looking for a sharp ultra wife angle lens for specialty shots, then look no further. This is a great lens whether you are shooting in tight spaces, want to show a large vista, or get a little creative with the fish eye. Highly recommended!

Love this lens for microcosm landscapes and unique perspectives. It's awesome for wrap around images of people and it's great for massive in your face mountains scenes. Quality and dominance in engineering and lens functionality almost outweighs it's hefty price tag. Still if you have a Canon EOS you gotta get one of these or you'll always wish you had.

Luckily I was able to get the last one. They don’t manufacture it anymore.

This wide angle lens is the best I have used. Great fish eye photos.

The lens really is amazing. I found myself never going any wider than 15mm because at about 12mm it starts to cut off the image. At the widest angle your photo is a literal circle. I’m sure a lot of people have purpose for photos like that, but it’s too expensive of a lens to just have lying around and only use occasionally. I picked up the 16-35mm instead and found it to be much more useful. The fish eye look of this lens is really cool but if you’re trying to decide between this lens and another, i recommend another because the distortion from this lens is remarkable and not always in a good way. Especially when photographing people.
