Customer Ratings & Reviews

Bought this as a gift and they loved it. Have been using it nightly and it is really simple to set up but has a great view

This is a great entry level telescope. Got this for my sons birthday (9) and he loves it. The views of the moon are great. Would recommend getting better eye pieces. First one that I ordered was damaged in transit but Best Buy got another sent and it was damage free!

My wife and I purchased this for our daughters birthday. When it arrived it was everything that was described and easy to assemble, the whole family has enjoyed using this telescope...you can actually see the rings of Saturn, and the lines on Jupiter when using the more powerful eyepiece included in this set. Overall we were very satisfied with this product.

I bought this as a gift and it has been very easy to set up and use. The app to use it with is also neat.

Got this for our 12 y.o. grandson and was a spot on purchase. Quality scope for the price point. Definitely would recommend this product for entry level to novice star gazers.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my little sister who is pursuing astronomy! She absolutely loved it!!! Takes some time to get the focusing done and you definitely need to follow the directions to have a clear image of what it is you’re looking at! The quality is great as we could visibly see each and every crater on the moon! I highly recommend this as a gift for a great starter telescope!

Some problems with the app, it was not alligned with the star map. Otherwise decent.

Really good for looking at the night sky. It is hard to set up the finder and i still have trouble with it. But when you actually find what you are looking for the view is amazing!

This telescope is great for kids to learn with! Shows the details of the moon very well!

Just bought this a few days ago. I am very impressed overall. Our first night we saw the moon very well, but I forgot my phone so we couldn’t use the StarSense app to help us find other things. Tonight we used the app and pretty easily found some of the outer planets. I was thrilled that we could see the rings of Saturn with some detail. We could also see the cloud band lines of Jupiter and a few of its moons shining in the viewfinder as well. To see the outer planets you will want to make use of the Barlow lens which is included with the lens set. Also, the app is handy at helping you locate objects in the sky. My iPhone 8-plus fit just fine in the phone holster. So glad I purchased this.

Easy to assemble and solid - very helpful to have the app. I would highly recommend. Other older telescopes don't have app. You'll see excellent ratings uniformly (even outside of Best Buy). Good telescope for me and my son.

I bought this telescope as a gift for my daughter who had been wanting a telescope. It arrived on time from Best Buy and in good shape. Assembly was easy and the product seems pretty sturdy for a device at this price point. It is a great entry level telescope.

Really easy to set up and use. The app integration is really cool. One of the included lenses seems a little cheap and tends to be difficult to focus, but hopefully it can be replaced or upgraded.

I purchased this telescope for my dad. Thought it would be a great Father’s Day gift. After watching a short video online, the telescope was ready to use, or so we thought. Aligning the telescope has been a struggle. The instructions if comes with are not detailed. I am pretty generous with my ratings, but for this product, I’m giving it three stars. It could be that we are beginner star gazers, but researching telescopes, I was under the impression this was a beginner scope.

Great clarity and easy to use. Initially bought as a gift; will now purchase one for myself.

My son loves it! Super easy to set up & find planets. For the price great quality

i can see all stars in the night sky, thank you so much for inventing this wonderful telescope

I had higher expectations for this telescope, especially the app that is supposed to guide you through the sky. Other than the moon, I wasn’t sure if I was looking at the object the app said I was locked on to. The tripod isn’t as stable as I would prefer, either. On the positive side, it was very easy to assemble. The next telescope will be computerized so I can have more time viewing and less time finding.

Bought this for my 12/14 yr old grandsons to experience the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction of Dec2020. They were able to set it up easily and were quickly checking out the conjunction, Moon and Mercury all with minimal help from adults. The smartphone app is an amazing help for novice stargazers to ease with finding celestial objects. Highly recommend this Celestron product. I own a 130mm, also from Celestron, also a great product.

This telescope is amazing! It is so easy to use and very clear view of the stars.
