The PSU had minimal coil whine and its fan wasn't noisy in the first half month of use. In order to even hear the whine, you had place one's ear near the PSU in the rear. Afterwards the whine got progressively louder at idle which could now be heard over an arm's length away from the case. This was exacerbated by slight load. Now when the PSU fan turns on, it's louder than all my other case and cpu cooler fans. Presently waiting on a support ticket from Corsair at the moment.

this was for a backup computer so i didnt work on the build regularly. with that said i wish i had come to the conclusion the PSU was bad much sooner and used BestBuy return. this is the first DOA Corsair product ive ever purchased, and ive purchased lots of different gear from them. im not sure what that means but there it is. Corsair with few questions accepted my RMA but now have to pay $23 to ship it back to them, lucky me

Bought because Corsair is suppose to be one of the top power supply brands. Failed within 3 months and is somehow non-returnable. Would not recommend.

Don’t buy this I’ve bought two now because I thought they were nice and affordable, but both have blown capacitors for no reason no indication of issues not overheating just pop don’t waste your money

Just bought this power supply as my current one wasnt sufficient for running my new gpu. Its loud as all get out! Neighbor is snow blowing outside my window and i can still hear this thing over the snow blower. Computer is about 3 and a half feet from where i sit!

I have been through 3 of these in 4 years. After the 2nd one went out I called an electrician to make sure it’s not on my end. The low review is because of Corsair customer service. They wanted to charge me ahead of sending the RMA. Any brand but Corsair.. they are not what they used to be.

If you wanted an advanced RMA, you'd indeed be charged in advance while the faulty unit is received by us. You'd also have the option of a regular RMA which wouldn't require any payment for a new unit.

I bought this in March. By April it had done went out. When I asked about the return policy I was told it was outside of the policy window. Now I am out a psu and not sure if I want to buy another one from them.

The power supply supplies power, and will hopefully do so reliably for years to come. That said, it is noisy. I thought I was crazy until I saw these reviews. Mine makes a grinding noise when I open a new browser tab or anything that requires any more power and ramps up with a loud grinding and whining. This would have been better if Corsair didn't give me the runaround on support with a ticket that lingered for a week before I gave up. I just resubmitted a ticket and will update on if they come through.

Only 2 weeks to return. Started making noises on day 16. I am currently in talks with Corsair support but this whole situation wouldve been much easier Best Buys return policy was longer.
