This is the worst laptop I’ve ever owned. The cheap plastic started peeling off after just a few weeks. Then the hinges broke, which caused pressure on the screen and completely ruined the LCD. It cost me $300 just to fix the display — more than the laptop is worth! The build quality is a total disaster. It feels like it was slapped together with glue and hope. The keyboard is unresponsive, it overheats constantly, and the battery dies in under an hour. Save yourself the frustration and money — this laptop is a complete waste and should be avoided.

This review is more for the return process and trying to purchase the correct computer for me then for this particular unit. Although I did not like it, and I thought the resolution was extremely faded and poor, that was my fault for not realizing the difference between resolution And video capable. I tried to talk to the sales person there, but he would only talk to me about buying total tech and I told him I did not want it. He kept going and going and going until I finally said look if you’re not gonna talk to me about what I need and trying to sell me the total tech when I’ve told you not to sell it to me I’m going to leave. and I did. I did talk to one of the cashiers when completing the return, and she was very helpful and conciliatory. I was kind of looked down upon because I really didn’t know what questions to ask in trying to get a new computer, I am 55. I should know laptops because I’ve used them for close to 30 years now but it’s just not my main area of focus, I really wish there wasn’t a push to sell the total tech instead of finding the right device for you but there it is. I’m open to buying from Best Buy again, but I’m very disappointed in this process. This computer was not for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for you. It’s just I wanted a higher resolution, now I know that.

I bought this a year and a half ago and have had nothing but problems with it. It freezes, glitches, and I have to restart. The keyboard gets stuck sometimes. I hate this laptop. I am going to have to buy another laptop as a result, and this was purchased only a year and a half ago. Piece of junk. Highly recommend you stay away from this.

I have had this laptop just over a year, and the hinge just broken for the second time. Don't buy. The back screen is made out of a terrible plastic that must have Styrofoam mixed into it.

Do not buy - terrible performance, constant battery warnings and failure to recharge, all of which started the day after the return period ended. It is without exaggeration the worst computer I have ever purchased in the last 34 years.

This computer is nice but the battery life is horrible, I have to keep my old computer close to me so when this one dies I can finish my homework assignments. Buyer beware!! I bought this computer because the salesperson suggested it, but I should have invested in another HP computer. I will have to buy another computer because this one is not good quality.........................

It's no good. The battery won't charge when it's plugged in, and I've only owned this thing for four hours so far. I've gone thru diagnostics and the battery is listed as healthy. It just won't charge. Returning it and buying a different brand. How can a basic function like charging not work?

I have had this product for only 1.5 years. I had to replace the battery last summer and it needs to be replaced. Don't buy this or you will spend $100 every 6-9 months on battery replacement.

We are sorry to hear that you are not too happy with your Dell Inspiron 3515 computer because it is poorly made, its display is blurry, and it is performing slowly. We will share your comments about these issues with our quality team, so future improvements can be made.
To help with display issues, please run a diagnostic test on the display. I have also included a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your PC so you can check for applicable updates to the drivers.
Method 1
1. Power off the Dell Laptop PC.
2. Disconnect any peripherals that are connected to the PC, and connect the AC Adapter (charger) to the PC.
3. Make sure that the LCD screen is clean (no dust particles are on the surface of the screen).
4. Press and hold D key and power on the PC to enter LCD built-in self test (BIST) mode.
Continue to hold the D key until you see the entire screen change colors.
5. The screen changes colors to black, white, red, green, and blue.
6. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
7. Press Esc key to exit.
