All the looks and feels Doom should have with the shooter experience comparable to the handling of Halo. So glad Bethesda picked up this title and sandboxed it.

I've always loved FPS games. This is not for the squeamish!

I have no idea why but the game will not work on my PC. I have an up-to-date PC so I know I have the hardware specifications to run the game. Now I have to spend hours trying to figure out what the problem is.

Three stars only for nostalgia. Won't run on my Lenovo Yoga 900. Hoping for a fix but the website offers ZERO support. Nothing! So weird. Hoping a fix will present itself.

Doom has great story, graphics, gameplay. Some areas it could improve on is the sounds and the variety of the guns. In the original Doom the sounds were so good you imagination could fill in how bad the creature was. The sound of your gun going off would make it feel powerful. The guns were also so distinct that each one felt like it was a needed tool to defeat the bad things. In this Doom the main pistol's sound is pew pew and the game could be defeated with any gun except the pistol. Overall still a great successor the Doom franchisee. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes games, shooters, or the Doom franchise.

Doom is excellent. Im not gonna lie here, my initial expectations were low, I expected a slow pace modern wannabe shooter consistent with the quality of games ID put up recently. I was blown away, I am a massive fan of the series and saw that this doom was everything I wanted. It is fast-paced, gore filled fun that only doom can deliver. My original guess was that it was going to pander to console players by making it slower ( I thought this after I saw the scroll wheel that slowed down game play.) It has been a long while since I have seen a shooter with intelligent map design, design which rewards players for playing the game at a faster pace, in fact I rarely found myself stopping in between combat, if at all. There is secrets galore in this game to. Not only that but the game itself is absolutely beautiful. From the large bosses to the small imps for pistol fodder every part of the game does not lack in design, This game reinvigorated my faith in ID. The online has obviously improved since the beta (Its great, i didn't get the chance to play the beta but I heard complaints) With a larger selections of weapons. In fact I see so many modding possibilities for the multiplayer on PC. After playing leagues and leagues of modern shooters this is the most refreshing multiplayer I have played in a while and will suck in hours and hours of my time I haven't really played around with snap map yet, but Ill be looking forward to it!. Anyway this reinvigorated the franchise and will forever be known as a classic, Amazing job id, i look forward for more

Great game, ID did amazing on a wonderful campaign. Feel like the original with next gen graphics. There are quite a few levels so the content is good, and every new level has a secret to unlock an original Doom or Doom II level. There's also multiplayer and a level maker to share or play other peoples. Really enjoy this and recommend it.

DOOM has already far exceeded my expectations. The graphics are amazing and run on even mid priced graphics cards. I have a GeForce 980 GTX that run the game at ultra with a FPS of 90-128 consistent. The hidden secrets and nods to the original game are great and much better than the terrible DOOM 3 that came out years ago. It's fast paced and the multiplayer feels like Quake from back in the day.

This is a fun revisit to the things that made the original Doom so much fun---action! From the moment you "wake up" you're fighting demons, and it doesn't let up until the end. You pretty much have to spend every second moving, shooting, jumping or finding health (which is fairly scarce, even on the normal setting). It doesn't get bogged down by the story--there is one, and all the clues are there if you want to know more, but it's mostly runnin' and gunnin', just like the original Doom. There are a couple of new mechanics---mostly the health off of fallen' monsters and "glory kill' mechanics--that add new a few fun new twists. If you liked that game you'll like this one, just make sure your machine can play it--it looks great and plays smooth if your machine has the specs.

I've been an avid DOOM fan since the beginning. The gameplay is fast, which I like. The graphics are great. The storyline is fun. The weapon and suit upgrades add a nice new touch to the game. The multiplayer was brutally hard, but I don't normally play fast paced FPS games. The campaign is fun, but can get a little repetitive.

The game is simply loads of fun for a fan of the original Doom games from the early 90s. I never expected a game to be able to so faithfully recreate the fast-paced, unadulterated Doom experience like this but with a modern (not at all out-dated) feel at the same time. The graphics are very smooth and it even includes a mode that allows you to create your own missions & share them online with others. It's a really, really good game, pure shooter mayhem like the old days.

Like playing the original game but better graphics and game play with extra add in like power ups and old school maps to play in ....recommend this game for old fans

Overall I am pretty impressed with the game. Long time fine of the DOOM series and this did not let me down. But I would recommend for PC owners to have an up to date rig with a GE-FORCE card and V-SYNC monitor. This game has an amazing textures package so you wont want to miss out on the chance to use it.

It's been a long time coming, but we finally have a great modern Doom game. The campaign is the shining beacon here, the muliplayer is average, SnapMap could be amazing in time. The campaign lasted me around 19 hours on ultra-violence difficulty. All of it was great fun. Buy it!

What an amazing game, graphically it is on point and it feels exactly like you would expect a modern doom game to fell. It doesn't bow to modern game conventions, no auto recharge of health or shields, fast paced game play and large maps. Tons of fun.

Doom is a FPS for people tired of spending half their gameplay sitting around waiting for health to regen or being limited to two weapons at time. The main campaign is a well paced rampage through demons ramping up the challenge as well as your arsenal and abilities with each level. The story gets in the way a few points but mostly the game is aware of what you're here for and doesn't try to give you lectures on the economic impact of your mass destruction. Now things aren't entirely old school, the game does have close range execution kills but they add a good risk/reward mechanic as they provide health pickups. There's also a perk like system later on that provides some additional customization to your abilities. Multiplayer offers a lot of options from fairly standard competitive modes with loadouts to player-made co-op maps.

I'm an old school Doom player going back to the original. This is a refreshing update some 10 years after Doom 3. Great graphics and game play. Beware: check the minimum system requirements, you need a fire breathing video card to work with this. My beef with the game comes in at the end of level 9 where you need to take down a boss demon, virtually impossible even on easy level. I have put 4 hours into this one battle and am giving up on the game. I've read all the tips and watched the video how to do it but I don't have the fire power to beat him. This just seems like stupid product design, FYI they did the same thing in Doom 3 - impossible levels on easy play. Makes no business sense at all.

Very addictive and awesome FPS game. Campaign is great, the story is great. Multiplayer mod little difficult for me. But overall best doom ever.

Do you like fast paced, high speed shooting? Just get this game. It's awesome, gorgeous, and runs like a dream. This is what DOOM felt like back in '93 when it first came out, without having to edit your config.sys this time around.

The campaign is an insane ride, while the multiplayer is a blast to play. I played roughly an hour of the campaign on release day, and two hours of the multiplayer PvP. I'm not one to play a game's multiplayer mode more than the campaign, but I've done just that with this title. There isn't a large selection of maps in the multiplayer, but every round you play earns you all kinds of rewards like skins, unlocked weapons and demons, etc. I'm hoping the season pass adds a bit more of what fans were initially expecting when it comes to maps and demons, but I am not complaining. The game lives up to every expectation I had.
