I recently moved to the west coast where AC in unit isn’t common. This fan definitely helps a ton! Helps move air efficiently. It is a little louder over setting “6” but that’s to expected. It definitely works. Slim design that fits into a room without looking like a clunky fan! I have no regrets!

Pros Sleek design Tons of airflow Simple to operate No visible fan blades to get damaged Near silent at slower speeds Precise speed control with 10 levels Magnetic remote storage No annoying sounds on high, just the sound of wind Small intake grating catches most dust and hair for easy cleanup Cons Air multiplier portion feels like cheap plastic Unit is so light it wobbles from airflow if placed near anything Sensor for remote too low to ground Controls are limited if remote is lost or damaged No smart functions for what is a high end fan Cleaning inside of base would be difficult The Dyson Cool Tower Fan is probably Dyson’s simplest appliance. It contains no fancy features, no filtering, and no smart controls. It is simply a tower fan but made the Dyson way. While not truly bladeless, the blades are hidden in the base which contains the blower fan. It is much lighter than their Pure Cool fans which is likely why it has a base plate is to improve stability. In the box it is separated into the base plate, motor unit, and air multiplier. The bulk of the fan is the motor unit, and the air multiplier is very tall and extremely light. In fact, it almost feels cheaply light as the plastic is easy to deform. Also included is a small coin cell operated remote which stays in place magnetically on the top of the air multiplier portion. While some functions can be controlled from the base, you need the remote to have access to all functions. You can control speed, oscillation, and sleep timer. There is no smart functionality or app control included. Setup and Performance Setup is easy. The base, power unit, and air multiplier have stickers that indicate where you connect them. Once inserted you turn it slightly until it clicks, and you are done. The remote is ready to go out of the box. The fan offers 10 levels of speed control giving you far more control than most fans. The oscillation control is a bit different than most. On most fans when you press the oscillate button it stops the fan with the first press and reverses it with a second press. This way if you are trying to point the fan you can use the button to find tune where it is pointing. With the Dyson Cool Tower, the button only works to stop and start oscillation. If you miss the spot you wanted to point the fan you have to wait for it to go through the entire cycle again and try to aim again. When it comes to cooling performance, this fan puts out a lot of air for its size. While it can get noisy at high speed, the sound emitted is just the sound of air moving. No unpleasant fan blade sounds or motor whining. Another bonus is since the fan blades are not exposed you don’t have to worry about seeing dust covered fan blades and how to clean them. The blades in the base also seem less likely to build up dust and hair because the intake grating at the bottom is small enough to where a lot of dust collects on the outside making cleanup quick and easy. While overall it feels well made, it does have some qualities that make it feel slightly less premium. The first is just how light the air multiplier portion is. Besides the flimsy feeling mentioned previously the unit is so light that if used near other items, such as a wall or furniture, the fan will wobble and shake. While any fan can do this it just seems out of place for what is intended as a premium fan. In any case the wobble doesn’t make any noise or affect operation and is more of nitpicking. Final Thoughts Overall, the Dyson Cool Tower Fan is a very nice fan. If you are a fan of Dyson product and need a fan the choice is easy. For everyone else, if you like the idea of a fan with no visible blades to worry about, like a sleeker simple design, or want more than the normal amount speed control then this fan could be a great fit for you.

Dyson has a basic cooling fan, model AM07, available for those that need air circulation in small areas. The box includes the motor unit, the air outlet (elongated piece), plastic base, remote control, and quick user guide. The fan comes with a manufacturer's 2-year warranty. PROS: ----------- * The fan comes packed in the box in 3 pieces which are easy to click together. * The fan has a very small form factor, meaning it takes up little space but packs a nice punch. The unit itself is only 7.25 inches in diameter with the wider base snap-on being 9 inches in diameter. * As stated, it packs a nice punch with air flow ranging from power settings 1-10 (10 being the highest). As the unit puts out more power, the motor dB/sound level does increase somewhat. At night, if you have the fan set to 10, it actually creates a type of "white noise" while you sleep. * The fan is moderately tall at 40" which would be tall enough to effect people sleeping at normal bed heights. To put that in perspective, it's a couple inches taller than a standard door knob. * Easy to clean with a damp cloth. Cleanable areas are mostly plastic. * If you place the remote control FACE DOWN on top of the fan, there is a magnet which will hold it in place. If you ever need the remote, it will be in plain sight and not have to put it in a drawer or in a place where animals could grab it use as a chew toy. * There is an easy-to-read lit display on the bottom of the fan that shows the fan level (1-10). When the unit is turned off, the display is also off. * The available sleep function times are 15m/30m/45m/1hr/2hr/3hr/4hr/5hr/6hr/7hr/8hr/9hr. This is actually a useful function as you can have it set to turn OFF just before you get out of the bed in the morning (so you don't freeze when you get out of the bed). * If you lose the remote control or if the remote battery dies, you are able to turn ON/OFF the power, and by holding down the power button, the fan speed will change up 1 thru 10, then back down to 1 until you find your sweet spot. CONS: ----------- * If you lose the remote control or if the remote battery dies, the rotation function and sleep timer cannot be used. Perhaps those basic functions could have been added to the base next to the existing power button in the event the remote is not longer usable. Then another remote would not have to be purchased OR the user could still use those functions while a new remote is being purchased. * The 2nd night I used it, there started to be a low-to-high buzzing/fluttering sound coming out of the motor. There was nothing in the fan area (when the top was removed) like a card in a bicycle wheel type scenario. I turned it back on (after checking the motor), and the sound started again, and the volume went up and down enough that I decided to turn it off for the night. I have used it 3 nights in-a-row since then, and it hasn't made that sound. If it continues in the future, I'll have to contact Dyson regarding a resolution. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: --------------------------------- * The power cord is approximately 6-ft long, and has a 2-pronged polarized plug. * To operate the fan via remote, there needs to be line-of-sight between the remote and the BASE of the unit. That is where the IR sensor is located on the fan. * If used a lot, the air intake vents on the base might need to be cleaned from time to time so the motor does not overheat. The vents are in an easy place to wipe off or vacuum. * This is not an air purifier. It also does not have a "cool/heat" function. It simply has an air intake that blows existing air in the fan's facing direction. * The remote replacement battery is a CR2032. CONCLUSION: ===================== Our family didn't need a super-fancy air purifier, so this fan worked out great for our needs. The extended timer (up to 9 hours) is a great feature for the purpose stated above. I do wish Dyson had implemented the timer and rotating function buttons onto the base in the event the remote becomes usable. To me, that's a pretty big "miss", given the limited functionality of the fan. Everything else about the fan is great including the ease to put it together. Overall, a solid product as one would expect from Dyson.

This fan is much quieter than regular ones, though it is not silent. I didn’t expect it to be, but just in case that’s your expectation. It’s also much smaller since it’s design is vertical. It can really push air on you hard if you want it to, and super soft as well. There are 10 speeds, a timed auto shutoff feature and it can oscillate as well. Very easy to clean and there’s really no setup. The remote is awesome just know you have to point it right at the unit. My only complaint really is the price. This is a compact regular fan surrounded by plastic that pushes the air up and out... a neat and smart design but unnecessarily pricey. Still, love the fan and if you have someone who hates fans like my SO does, this is a good buy for you.

Great product. Has 10 power levels to choose from. Mostly quiet, but is a little noisy at higher levels. Blows air better than other fans that I have had. Nice feature that is has no blades and easy to clean. The only negative is the high price for this fan even when it is on sale.

The design is easily recognizable as a Dyson and that will have visitors know that you spent money (even when on sale it’s rather pricey ($260 on special). Foremost it’s a fan and that it does very well. Maximum flow is good for medium sized rooms (<400 sqft) and noise at that level is manageable (not silent). When unpacking, make aure to look for the remote, it’s easily missed. Generally, the fan is rather basic, and with that in mind, fairly expensive. It dies have a remote and an oscillating base. However, there is no strage for the small remote and that’s easy to misplace. There is also no “smart” function where tou can control the fan from your phone, unlike some models for half the price. There is no filter to change here.

The fan works very well. Bladeless, I don't worry about little ones getting there fingers injured. I would like it just a bit better if it oscillated to cover a wider area.

I bought the AM07 because I'm extremely sensitive to how things look in my living room... couldn't have an ugly fan sitting in there! The Dyson looks great and its fanless design means that it'll have a minimal visual impact on the room. Against a white wall it's easy to forget that it's in there. Performance is good, but nothing to write home about. It moves air well but can get a bit noisy at the higher power levels (6 and above). I really like that it has a timer so I can have it blow air from outside for a few hours after I go to bed then shut off automatically. Overall I'm happy with the purchase although there may be a bit of form over function at play here.

On TV commercials, you hear all about how the Dyson fans have a smooth airflow, and how you can't hear the motor. Well, the commercials are right. The airflow is great -- their "air multiplier" stuff really helps move the air more than a regular tower fan. The fan also offers a full 90-degree rotation, unlike other fans that only rotate 60 degrees. Those two features help keep my living room cooler than the tower fan I used previously. On the other hand, while you can't hear the motor, you do hear the air itself, as it squeezes through the tiny vents around the tower. Imaging the sound of the air blowing from your lips while you whistle without actually whistling, and you start to come close to the sound from the fan. I would never use this in a bedroom at its highest speed, because the sound would be too loud to sleep through. In the living room, at a relatively low speed (setting 4, out of 10), the sound level is modest enough for conversation and comfort. The remote control has a handy little feature. It's magnetic and attaches to the top of the tower, making the remote easier to keep track of. You do need to hang on to the remote -- while you can turn the fan on/off and control the power level without the remote, you do need the remote to get the fan to rotate. But all Dyson products come with a literal cost, and this fan is no exception. Dyson doesn't allow vendors to put their items on sale, so you should wait until Dyson themselves have a sale, which then carries down to vendors. If you can, take advantage of coupons. That's the only way I was able to justify the purchase. Otherwise, if you just want a decent tower fan, there are many other less-expensive options.

I got this fan when my central air stopped working. It was pretty effective in cooling down the living room. However it is not as quiet as reviewed. The more expensive versions seem to be more quiet. However if you are unbothered by this, it is definitely worth the buy. Sleek design, easy to install and use.

I got this fan because of my cats. It's been so hot that I want to leave the fan on even when I am not in the house. But I am worry about regular fan with the blade that might be dangerous with the cats around. My 20 years old senior kitty doesn't see as well any more and she bums into things when she roams around the house. So the Dyson is perfect without the blade and still provide good air flow. I don't find it noisy as the fan is actually doing what it designs to do, move air around. Will consider to buy another one for the bedroom. I took a point off because of the price.

Design is super sleek! This fan moves air but at a cost. Think of air moving thru two vertical piece of wall. I never have the fan pass level 6. For the price it does not have a dimming phase for the light. Even in sleep mode. Hence the 4 stars. Overall it has a nice sleek design, I personally wouldnt buy it if it wasn't on sale which i got it when it was on sale.

I like it. However, the air flow is limited compared to a traditional box or small fan. Also, there's no control of fan speed on the device. If you misplaced the remote, then you either have one speed or none. I like the design, but you have to be in front of it to feel any cool air.

Have been using for approximately one month. Fan moves more air than any blade fan we have had. It is definitely not silent but we like the background noise in the bedroom. The remote has to be pointed directly at the fan for it to register. Nice looking fan. 4 stars at this point due to the price point. Will update review if there are any issues with long term durability.

Super easy to put together super quiet once you have it put together and the remote makes life way easier to control from anywhere in the room. Also, this fan is super powerful and cooling technology is amazing.

This is a solidly good fan. I was expecting a bit more oomph for the price, but it does the job of a decently good fan. It does look cool. 10 wind speeds, oscillates, and comes with a remote. Its’s a good, bougie fan.

I purchased this as I needed something for the bedroom when I sleep. I sweat when I sleep regardless of whether or not the duvet is only half covering me. You can set this to 4 or 5 and have it running all night. This fan does not produce the low rumbling sound of most fans with traditional blades. Even most tower fans introduce noise due to the blades beating and forcing the air through. The quiet efficiency of the AM07 is due to the blade design and cavity the air moves through. The noise produced by the AM07 is mostly just air movement, closer to the sound of white noise than anything else. The marketing literature on the engineering of the cavity that the air moves through is evident. While I wouldn't agree that the fan is truly "bladeless", as you need some sort of blade to make the air move, but the design of this turbine-like blade does allow the air to flow over it with a minimum of friction. This and the fact that the motor & blade is fully contained in a tuned cavity means it is much quieter. Since I run the fan every night, it has even saved me quite a bit on my utility bill since I don't need to use central air/heat all the time. The Dyson AM07 is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye, so can happily live in any room and be totally unobtrusive. Though the AM07 was expensive, I can totally appreciate the exceptional engineering of it. It will certainly pay for itself within a few months of savings to my energy bill.
