Overall, it worked great for the first 4 months or so. It was maybe used 20 times. The crummy part of the vacuum is that you have to hold down the trigger the entire time you're vacuuming rather than an on/off switch. The suction and mobility are great. However, it does not stand up on its own, so if you need to move something to vacuum around it, then you have to lie the entire thing on the ground. Then it just died. I called Dyson and they were less than helpful. Multiple calls back and after talking to a manager, they had me send it back. 2 weeks later and multiple calls to them, they no longer make the V11+ so cannot do anything about the vacuum I bought (and subsequently sent back) to them.

The power and battery life are exceptional. HOWEVER after less than 6 hours, this is a backup to a Dyson 7, I needed a new motor/body. I do not like this Dyson. I wish I had purchased another 7. This is the worst design possible. I have 3 large dogs, retriever, American Bully and a Siberian Husky, the canister fills quickly and to dump it you must remove the suction tube. To remove the tube you must have it in perfect alignment for it to release while pushing the button. To dump it, a lever releases the bottom hinged door and does not allow for all the hair to dump. I have operated the lever many times and it will not evacuate the canister, I have to either take the canister off or try to fit my hand in the canister around the steel mesh filter to pull the hair out.

Spend more cash and get the V15 you will be so much more happy i promise! This v11 head is bulky, not the best on hardwood. Great on carpet. I personally love the v15 bc it’s light up head swivels at ease - less bulky than the v11, easier to maneuver on stairs etc.

I have to say this is my 3rd Dyson vacuum and for the amount of $ it costs, I am fairly disappointed with some of design features, the suction capability, corner suction and the heavy battery that falls off time to time if the vacuum is banged a little hard. I really don't like that in order to empty the dust bin, I have first the disconnect the vacuum wand from the front of the vacuum, then open the bin to discard the garbage - very annoying. This is because the dust bin opens from the front of the machine instead of the bottom - which is a better method. The wand does not like to disconnect easily and I find myself have to seriously press down on the red button to release it, then pull it out. I do like that this vacuum has 3 different options for suction, but honestly, my V8 had 2 options and the "normal" suction mode was waaaaayyy better than this vacuum's normal mode. I also noticed the suction in the corners and along the side is not as good as the V8. The attachments (although more options than the V8) are so cheapy and plasticky (my word) that it disappoints as a Dyson customer. Sometimes the after-market replacement items are better than what came in this box! Just definitely disappointed in this purchase. My V8 crapped out a little after a year, so figured this would be an upgrade - definitely not and about $150 more...not worth it.

I wanted to love this vacuum as it would have been my second purchase…. I did not. I returned it as fast as I bought it. Super disappointed:/
