If you'd like to switch between the kids' experience and the standard Alexa experience, you can do so by managing the Amazon Kids settings through the Alexa app or the Amazon Parent Dashboard. When Amazon Kids is paused or the device is switched to the standard profile, the Echo Dot functions just like a regular Echo Dot, giving you full access to all Alexa features, skills, and music services available to adults. To adjust your profiles and toggle between kid and adult modes, open the Alexa app, go to Devices, select your Echo Dot Kids, and manage the Amazon Kids settings from there. The Echo Dot Kids is designed with parental controls and age-appropriate content through Amazon Kids+, which intentionally limits access to certain platforms like YouTube to provide a safer, more controlled environment for children. I'm glad you were able to exchange it for a regular Echo Dot that better suits your family's needs, as the standard Echo Dot does support YouTube Music and can access YouTube content through compatible Fire TV devices or Echo Show displays. For connectivity issues, weak Wi-Fi connection can affect performance. Try moving your Echo Dot Kids closer to your Wi-Fi router. Restart your Echo Dot by unplugging it from power, waiting 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.
