Typically, ventless dryers work by condensing the moisture from your clothes and collecting it as water. If that hose is too short to properly reach a drain or water collection point, you'll need an extension. You’re right—if the hose doesn't reach far enough, you’ll have to manually empty the water tank, which can be inconvenient. To avoid that, you’d want to extend the hose and direct it into the wall drain, just like the technician recommended. I’d suggest finding a compatible drain hose extension.
