I've always been a big fan of Epson and when they came out with the Epson Fast Foto scanner I couldn't be happier. It does everything it is supposed to do and is really fast. I have an Epson Flat Bed scanner as well as an all in and the fast foto runs rings around both of those

Although I'm giving this product an overall rating of 3-stars, the product itself is a 5-star product. I review products according to their price-to-value, and in my opinion, this product is just too expensive. The photo scanner is well built (very close to high quality) and easy to use. The performance is almost flawless - you need to clean all your pictures very well or it will jam or create streaks on you pictures, which is understandable. Now for the typical consumer, how often are you going to be scanning pictures? After spending $650-$680, what is it going to do after it scans all your pictures? Not to mention the time you will spend cleaning your pictures. Many photo scanning services will scan your photos for 20-cents a piece (some even lower); for a 1,000 pictures that's only $200 (and you save time). Great product but not a wise buy for most people.

Bought this after dad passed - great scanner to use if you need to scan a large quantity of photos

This is as fast as promised. I have only used it for documents so far. The reason for 4 stars is that I couldn’t do multiple documents at a time. It would scan 2 pages at the same time.

I've been looking for a way to digitize a lot of my photos - something quicker than using the flatbed scanner I've got on my printer. This does the trick. Very easy to use. Output is decent quality. Only downside is the price. Too steep in my opinion - could have been $100 less. Thankfully, I had gift cards to use. (realize it's not all on BBY on that one. Company making it does set the recommended price)

I purchased this to begin scanning and digitizing our family photos. Showed my father how to work it and he's been going to town on it. Easy to set up on my mac and the software is simple to use. I love that it scans the back of each photo too!

This photo scanner is worth every penny. I am archiving all my parents photos - 60 years of old photos into my drive. The speed is fantastic and the quality is pretty good. I am destroying the hard copy photos after they are all scanned in.

I bought one of the first one of these in the country because I had many thousands of hard-copy photos that I wanted my kids and grandkids to be able to see. I already had a super-high-end scanner but it did one photo at a time and it was taking ages. This thing does a wonderful job (I know my photo stuff) at high speed. In my spare time in the last few weeks I've scanned over 7,000 photos. The only two drawbacks are that very large or odd size photos still need to go into the old single scanner and, wait for this one, it is so good and so fast that I don't know what I'll do with it after I finish scanning all my old photos. It is rapidly doing itself out of a job. I've only got about 30,000 more to go. Bottom line - I love it and it is worth every penny in saved time and effort for large quantities of photos.

I've been looking for ways to digitize my old photos. I tried a service through local photography store, but it was expensive (about $100 for a shoebox size box), had mediocre quality scans (300 dpi), and arrived unorganized. You can customize your scan setting, and it will scan through a stack of photos amazingly quick. Still a lot of work to organize and scan, but better quality, less hassle, better organization, and overall cheaper than using a service.

This scanner is easy to hook up and the default setting make it easy to get started. It scans batches of 30 photos at a time and you can scan multiple groups of 30 within the same file. It made short work of our large backlog of photos. All you need to do is get organized before starting.

Speeds through scanning amazingly fast. Epson driver for Mac a little problematic. Could use some tweaks.

This photo scanner is easy to use and makes scanning many photos a lot quicker. It would be nice for the price if it also could somehow handle negatives (reason for 4 stars). The enhancement feature seemed to make black and white photos too dark but did help bring back the colored photos.
