I bought this printer around a year ago and it doesn’t work properly. It regularly disconnects from the WiFi and takes around 30 minutes to get it reconnected….every time. It randomly shoots out 10 blank pages in between my printed sheets. It will pint one page on two, three, five…it sucks. Trying to use the top loader and it regularly gets jammed…there is nothing in it…I have to open it and pretend to pull paper out for it start working again. It’ll start by taking one page at a time and then, it’ll pull the whole stack in. This printer sucks and I end up running out of time/ patience to get things to print. And recently it stopped printing in black… just black and I cleaned it and did the little self cleaning program and no black ink. I’m going today to buy a new one. Maybe mine is a dud and hopefully no one else will deal with these issues.

What a terrible printer. After many years of dependable Epson products this one was a real let down for several reasons. First of all its very flimsy, poor plastic construction. It feels and functions like $50 off brand printer but the off brand would likely print. Secondly it will not let you print B&W even with a full XL black cartridge, if the color inks are low or out. Isn't that the whole point of having a separate cartridge for B&W? The device insisted i install a new cyan AND a new Magenta, to print in black ink only mode! I needed to print 5 page of black text for work and even though I had a lot of black ink (XL 3/4 full) I had to open a new box including a new black. Since i cannot depend on the machine for color output I'd hoped to finish the existing black and get a new machine... instead $72 worth of ink is out of the new printer budget. also it's LOUD and noisy and goes offline a lot. Not dependable to print something you need. I only printed one color image and it was a disaster. Tried head alignment and cleaning but I only had the printer a week or two and that was disappointing. It has been so frustrating trying to get it to work that i didn't have tome to post how bad it was...Ink usage sucks but worse I now need to find a printer that will print B&W as long as I have Black ink...I can no longer depend on Epson and you should not either

DO NOT BUY this Epson model or any other for that matter. If you make the horrific mistake of purchasing this printer, DO NOT allow your printer to do firm updates. If you do, the printer will not recognize its printer ink. And I DO NOT use 3rd party or “off brand” ink. The Epson printer will not even recognize its own ink! appArently this is a well known issue with not just this model but many Epson models. This problem Is well documented online and on YT. This was a complete waste of money, bordering on scam imo.

Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage. It has been nothing but problems since the first time I used it. The ink ran out after printing just two Pictures. The paper jams 90% of the time. Prints color when it should only be black and white. Took over an hour for the WiFi to connect. Never again will I buy ANYTHING from this company!

This printer has the hardest time staying connected to the network. When it is connected to the network the printing is so slow that it would be faster for me to drive to the library to print of pages. I’m debating on purchasing a different printer because I can’t return this one due to it being outside the time frame. I should have returned it as soon as I had the issue but I thought it was just me trying to connect it and that it would get resolved.
I bought this and it worked fine until it ran out of ink. It uses Epson 822/822XL. After spending too much money on ink the printer carriage would not align so the ink cartridges could be changed. After tricking the system to align by removing power I changed the Black ink cartridge. Now the system claims it is the wrong cartridge , which it is not. I am extremely frustrated with Epson. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Printer is fine. I'm reviewing the trade-in offer. Online it shows a $30 off coupon can be applied to this exact printer if you recycle your old one. I did this at the West Broad store and when it was time to use the coupon the associate was not able to apply the coupon to this model although it clearly includes it in plain type on their website. No attempt was made to double check- such a waste of time and effort. Enjoy reselling the printer I gave back to you I guess...

Customer service is terrible and their bios update crashed the printer. Printer can not communicate with their software. It used up all the ink trying to align the print heads. If you do get the printer do NOT allow the updates. They WILL Sabotage the printer!

I am so frustrated with this thing, so many problems. Sometimes won't connect to wifi, screen freezes, it wants to print 5 or 10 stacks of papers at a time, now it won't even work anymore. Keeps saying that it is out of paper when it is in fact loaded. What a piece of junk, I will never buy Epson or recommend anyone to do so.

To say this printer is unusable is an understatement. I have yet to complete one single print job without issues. Sometimes it just won’t connect to WiFi. Sometimes it spaces out mid-page with no error code and just says busy. Sometimes there’s suddenly a page setting to printer page style disconnect. Sometimes it won’t power on. You get the idea. On top of all of this, user interface is poor and hard to fix errors, there is also no setting on the printer to print double sided, which is an issue because their EpsonSmartPrint app will also not let you select double sided! Yet it’s a “feature” of this printer, although somehowI can get it to double print from my phone’s print interface, but this doesn’t matter because it will just stop printing 75% thru the job anyways. Literally the biggest waste of time and money, one star is far too generous.

It's about as useless as you can get. When it actually prints, it's pretty clear and precise. However, it probably only prints properly about 10% of the time. The paper feeder tray is the worst tray that I've ever had in a printer, and I have been buying printers for almost 30 years now. Right now I'm waiting for page 2 out of 7 which I started to print about 5 minutes ago. I've had to cancel this very simple black and white document once already. I can't print another document that I really need to. When you do have cancel a print, it takes a very long time to actually cancel it. It almost feels like it's meant to work this way so that it only prints out half a page, then you have to buy new ink earlier because you have to reprint the whole page to get the whole document. So when the paper feeder tray actually is being cooperative, it will sometimes stop a print halfway down the page then finish feeding the paper out. I have found that Epson is much easier to set up than another manufacturer which I'm not sure of I'm allowed to mention here so I won't, and my first Epson was great as far as printing. This one's absolutely horrendous and I would not recommend it to anyone. I bought this one because it was on a very deep discount sale and that should have probably told me something. This will be my last Epson.

So frustrating that printer manufacturers cannot keep up with wifi technology. I have owned every major brand of printer and they all eventually experience the same unnecessarily time consuming problem- unable to locate wifi. After a week this thing will disconnect from our wifi, forcing me to spend a ridiculous amount of time resetting everything - printer, router, computer and every other device connected to the printer. We have a new mesh wifi system because our last printer had the same issue, so we upgraded everything and the problem still exists. The printer cannot locate wifi and the only solution is to reset the router, it’s not the router and no other devices have connectivity issues, its is 100% the printer. Once it is reset, the printer creates a “new connection” and does not use what was previously programmed into the printer, forcing every connected device - computers, tablets, phones, etc. to establish a new connection and reset all preferences. (I print payroll so this is completely unacceptable.) I've been averaging 35+ minutes of frustration every time I need to use the printer and today, it won't even work at all. Pages print blank and the screen shows and error messaging saying to restart the printer, which just repeats the same loop of malfunction. This printer lasted exactly 1 year....

If you don’t want your printouts to average a dollar each ( in black only) then this printer is not for you. I bought this because it’s high review and it’s claims of printouts per ink cart, however, beware that these are false claims. I bought two at the same time and both have been more of a frustration than anything else. I just bought color and have not used it and am getting an almost half empty read off the carts. What a waste. If it wasn’t for the ink problem I would recommend this printer.

On Real Time with Bill Maher, he ridiculed printers and his example was Epson. I have one and it's the worst to setup. OK, so I purchased this Epson WF 3820 for home use. The problem has been a continuing disconnect from the Wifi network. Some times it will connect other times it will not. Now it is telling me that the passcode is entered wrong and it won't connect. Every other device in the house connects using that passcode. This printer has been nothing but trouble since I got it. I have disconnected several times, reinstalled software, updated drivers, etc. yet and still the printer is a spontaneous, performance mess. When it does decided it will cooperate and print, the print quallity is good. This is my last Epson.

I spent about 8 hours trying to get this printer to work, including 3 trips to BB. I could not get it to connect to my PC. And little guidance from Epson. No solution, I returned it and exchanged for a HP printer.

When it prints it works okay but slow. Then it disconnects and wants to run an Epson Print Checker utility. Even when not printing it connects and disconnects all the time. This is both wired USB and Wireless. Even removing the printer and reinstalling with just USB or just Wireless the printer errors on its own, or when printing several pages. I am very literate with software and drivers and can tell you this printer has issues.
