It works well, but the ink runs out very quickly.3/5

This is a great printer, perfect for those needing scanning, printing (included 2 sided paper printing), high quality scanning, 150dpi, or 300dpi, photo/document copying, and faxing as well. It has a great little screen for performing just about every function you can think of directly, including maintenance, faxing, copying, emailing .pdf scans, etc. Will also tell you ink capacity, and when there are firmware updates. Unboxing, and setup is probably at least a 30 minute task. This printer comes with tons of tape, all around different components, no doubt keeping things safe for shipping, but it will take you a while to locate all the blue tape they have in, and some of that blue tape is kind of hidden. While it does come with a very simple set of setup instructions, there were many pieces of tapes that needed to be removed that are hidden, and not mentioned in the very brief included printed setup guide. Setup onto my wi-fi network was very easy via the touchscreen. It just scans available wi-fi routers, choose yours, and use the touchpad to enter in your home network wi-fi password. There is also an ethernet port, if you prefer to connect locally to your ethernet home network, and also a USB port if you want to connect directly to a computer. You can also download and install the Epson iPrint app, if you want to print or scan from your Android or iOS device. Your mobile device needs to be on your home wi-fi network in order to see the printer, and from there you can go about printing documents on your device, or scanning. I have been using this app to scan multi-page documents, via the printer’s top feeding multi-page feeder, called the ADF, autodocument feeder, and it works great. No paper jams so far, and is far faster than using the “flatbed” on the printer if you have to scan loads of pages in. Quality at both 150dpi, and 300dpi is great. Nice color scans! Print quality seems to be great for my work from home use, as is the 2 sided printing, which is awesome, and the first “home” printer I have ever had that did this. If there is any one thing that I can say, and this is a big one, is that you cannot use third-pary ink on this printer. The Epson firmware, and the design of their actual ink-tanks, have a chip on it, preventing the use of any third-party ink. The epson ink is very expensive, and the only ink that will work, costs about a third of the actual printer price! If you are a heavy printer, this is something to keep in mind. I repeat, you cannot use third party ink. The firmware and chip on board the ink cartridges will prevent you from using nothing but their own ink.

It works good when it is printing. I do not like that sometimes it goes off line and my connection is stopped. I then have to reconnect by typing in my passcode again. It switches from wifi to the other option for connection. I do not like when that happens.

This printer is large. It has lost connection multiple times with my computer. The printing looks great, but I wouldn't buy again.

Difficult to set up to computer unless tech saavy. I was not able to set it up to my chromebook but could set it up to my phone. Print quality is good.

I purchased the Epson WF-3820 Nov 30 2023 to replace an Epson WF-3540 that was 10+ years old. The 3820 does no live up to the 3540 because I get a communications error most of the time when printing. The 3820 looses it's WiFi connection constantly. The 3820 prints good when working, the fax and scan work just as good as the 3540 when the WiFI does not drop. Since I had very good luck with the Epson WF-3540 I decided to purchase another Epson. I needed a printer that could do double side printing, and fax and scan which is why I got the 3820. My WF-3540 was a workhorse for all these years with no issues. At the end the carriage could only print one side without getting stuck. I should have keep it for single side printing.

I have found after using it for a few weeks that the paper jams regularlly. The paper draw is hard to take out and put back in place. Programing the scanner from default 200 to 600 was a pain. When it works it works great. The speed is good and print quality is equally as good.

The printer itself was pretty nice but makes a lot of clicking noises and is really loud, especially when first setting up. Printing text itself is pretty good and images come out a little more dull then onscreen. Be aware printer also makes clicking noises while printing as well, but the speed is pretty fast. It does randomly make noises from time to time, so far but this is the first day with it so I’ll see how it goes.

Printer is good. Runs through ink very quick. Good print quality.

I had to replace my previous printer (also an Epson workforce wireless all-in-one) when I upgraded our wifi and we found that the access point error couldn't be corrected (from both Epson and Comcast and over ten hours of calls). I bought this one because it was in stock and had decent reviews. I've hated it since I got it. It's clunky. The paper tray is a royal pain. You end up having to take it in and out multiple times before it thinks it's in the right way. It's very loud when printing, the ink runs out quickly, and it constantly gives me errors which aren't really errors. Sometimes it will take 15 minutes to print a page (the printer is right beside). I would not recommend this and am honestly hoping it breaks so I have an excuse to buy a new one.

After purchasing the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 Wireless All-in-One Printer for my home office, I have had a mixed experience with its overall performance. This printer offers a range of functionalities, though there are areas where improvements could be beneficial. Design and Build Quality: 3/5 The Epson WF-3820 features a standard black design that fits well in most office settings. While its size is relatively compact, the design and build quality are average and don’t particularly stand out in the competitive printer market. Setup and Connectivity: 3/5 The setup process is straightforward, but not exceptionally different from other printers in this category. The wireless connectivity functions as expected, providing basic connectivity options. However, it lacks additional connectivity features that might be seen in other models. Print Quality and Speed: 3/5 The print quality is satisfactory, delivering decent text and graphics. It's adequate for everyday printing but doesn't excel in either sharpness or color vibrancy. The print speed is average, aligning with what is typically expected from an all-in-one printer in this range. Features and Functionality: 3/5 The all-in-one capabilities of the WF-3820 - including printing, scanning, and copying - perform adequately. The touchscreen interface is functional, yet it could be more intuitive. The absence of advanced features like automatic two-sided scanning is noticeable. Ink Efficiency and Cost: 3/5 Ink efficiency is moderate. Regular users might find the ink consumption and the cost of replacement cartridges to be on par with other printers in the same category, but not particularly cost-effective in the long run. Overall Experience: 3/5 Overall, the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 is an average all-in-one printer. It meets basic printing needs but doesn’t particularly excel in any specific area. It’s a suitable option for those with moderate printing needs, but heavy users or those seeking high-end features might want to consider other options.

The quality of the prints and copies are good but there are constant connectivity issues. I would strongly recommend looking for another option in this price range.

I would rate this printer higher on performance/quality of output, but the setup process ( software) was very cumbersome and I had to utilize the helpdesk to remedy the challenges. This should be a simple , step-by-step process without the need to be on the phone with the helpdesk. His instructions that enabled the successful installation of the drivers SHOULD be part of the written instructions that come with the unit.

I would have given this item a (5) star due to the functions and compact size however this is the 2nd WF-3820 I have purchased in (2) years, with the most rece t purchas3 a month ago. The problem seems to be with the cartridge carriage. It stops moving to insert or remove cartridges. This happened on both printers so it seems like an issue that should be addressed and remedied. Other than this, it is an excellent printer. I recommend with knowledge of this issue!

After having to buy a $200 protection plan to get help with the driver instillation this works good WHEN the computer doesn’t drop the printer.. Very unhappy I had to pay this to just get assistance with the driver installation in a desktop that I also bought at best buy 4 years ago. Will have to call back again to have the geek squad to figure out why the desktop keeps dropping the printer. When I have a spare 2 hours....

Printed fine with starter ink. Upon changing the ink cartridges, it would not read the new ink and repeatedly asked to insert cassette correctly. It matched manufacturer ink numbers and fit perfectly, but would not work after that. Ecotanks are definitely the way to go now. No replacing cartridges, just open and refill with ink bottles.
