The lens is the world's lightest full-frame F4 wide-angle power-zoom lens, designed to provide refined imagery and exceptional control for today's content creators. Its compact design makes it an ideal choice for small crews or solo shooting, and its stunning G lens rendering and astonishing autofocus (AF) performance make it equally suitable for still photography. The lens boasts evolved image quality, delivering superb G Lens image quality in a compact, lightweight package. It incorporates two advanced aspherical (AA) elements, a Super Extra-low Dispersion (ED) element, and an ED element to effectively suppress distortion and aberration. The circular aperture and controlled spherical aberration enhance the bokeh quality, while the 9.5-inch (0.24 meter) minimum focus distance allows for stunning close-ups.Designed with movie imagery in mind, this lens minimizes the angle of view shifts that can occur when focusing or zooming, ensuring stable, high-quality movie footage. The focus, zoom, and aperture operations are extremely quiet, reducing noise and vibration that can interfere with movie recording. The lens features a new power zoom system driven by four Extreme Dynamic (XD) Linear Motors, providing smooth control with the immediacy of manual zoom. The zoom can be remotely controlled when the camera is mounted on a gimbal, making it perfect for professional video production. The lens also features two XD Linear Motors for quick, quiet, low-vibration autofocus, maintaining compact lens dimensions. With a compatible body, it can maintain accurate focus while shooting stills continuously at up to 30 frames per second and movies up to 120fps.The lens offers independent zoom, focus, and aperture rings for flexible, intuitive creative control. The aperture ring has an aperture click switch that allows the click stops to be turned off for smooth, seamless aperture adjustment.Despite its compact size and lightweight design at just 353 g (12.5 oz), this wide-angle zoom lens does not compromise on functionality or performance. Its length remains constant while focusing and zooming for optimal balance and handling, making it ideal for gimbal-mounted movie shooting or with the use of a matte box. Its impressive portability and dust/moisture resistant design make it a versatile choice for any subject or situation.
