Nice enough microwave. However it came with a dent ln the top that had to have been done at the factory. They chose to sent the product anyway. It was not damaged in shipping as the box was intact. A discount should have been offered for the flaw, but one wasn’t, though I asked.

From day one we were not sold on this microwave. And having to press cancel after the microwave is finished just to open is annoying. It does not get food hot in the middle im noticing the edges of everything warms but the center of whatever is inside will be cold, luke warm if im lucky. Total waste of money. At this point we are happy with the color. Also it is smaller than average. Should be 50 bucks for this. Maybe good for sinior citizens or children

After an extensive search for a microwave that would fit in my 13.5 inch deep cabinet, this was all I came up with. Despite being deeper than my old microwave, also a GE that just stopped working after 5 years, the interior is actually smaller; last night I tried to pop a regular bag of popcorn, and it got stuck as soon as it was full size, stopped spinning, only half cooked but burnt. What kind of microwave won't even fit a full-size bag of popcorn! On top of that, this was the third (!) one we tried; the first one I picked up had no power at all, the second had the power button falling off. The power button on this one is loose and crooked, but it was the last one they had in stock. Looking for a replacement.

On the positive side, this microwave is compact and nice-looking. On the negative side, it lasted barely two years, with fairly light use (heating water for tea, making microwave popcorn) before it started making strange noises and smoking from the inside while heating some water in a plastic cup. If you need a microwave that will last more than two years, I'd recommend another model.

There are not a lot of options available for small appliances when space is limited. This was one of 2 options. Smaller appliances = less power, this is to be expected. It takes a lot longer to heat items up. The disappointing thing is that in less than a year, the microwave exploded (see flash and smoke and large burnt side) when melting butter. No foil or metal inside. Good news? GE replaced the microwave with the same unit. If you are limited on options, buy with caution- but if you have other options- go that route. Based on experience with GE, I would buy another one of their products and assume the initial microwave was a fluke.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We're sorry to hear your microwave isn't as powerful as you'd like and that there was a flash with smoke inside. We're sure that was worrisome as we'd never want that for our consumers. With that said, we're pleased to know your microwave was replaced and we're happy to have you in our GE Appliances family. All the best. - Guy@GEA <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/GE_Appliances.jpg" alt="GE_Appliances" title="GE_Appliances" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Bought for my daughter's Dorm, nonetheless she was not very pleased with the soo longer time it took to even to boil water or cook noodles compared to similar 0.7 cu.ft. in her friends other brands microwave taking less than half time to do the same job. We regret to purchase and so returned this.

Had the microwave for about 2 years so this is my complete review. Noticed that there is always condensation build up after each use and we would have to wipe the doors. What we didn’t do was wipe the inside. We noticed rust starting to appear after about ~1 year of use. This meant that, that’s when it got bad enough for our eyes to see. Fast forward 2 years and the rust is really bad where we no longer feel safe using it. The extended warranty wasn’t worth it as it doesn’t cover rust. There were other reviews about rust on this product but I ignored them.; they were right.

The only reason I purchased this microwave is because it fit underneath one of my kitchen cabinets. It was the only one out there that did! I guess you get what you pay for though.....the door makes a lot of noise when you close it and it does not cook very well. Lots of recipes call for 2 minutes or so but with this one, you better up the time......not powerful at all.

This microwave looked great and was as described. After 2 weeks of use the button to open the microwave has stopped functioning properly. I’m outside of return window so I’m disappointed that it only worked for a short time.

Hi, thanks for leaving a review. We're incredibly sorry your Compact Microwave is having issues after just 2 weeks. It's always exciting to get a new appliance, but when it fails unexpectedly it's quite disheartening. You deserve to have durable, high-quality appliances and a positive experience with GE products. With that being said, we will continue to work and improve this model. Thank you for your patience.

This looks like a great product, but I did not even plug it in because it does not meet the specifications that are listed for it. The specs say that it has a 10 3/4 inch turntable. That would work well with one of our dinner plates. However, the diameter is at least an inch smaller. Best Buy is probably getting the info from GE, which has the wrong data on their site about this product. It is frustrating to look at several candidate items, and select one based on the published specs, and then find that the specs were wrong.

We had this microwave for at least 7 months. 2 issues with it so far (as I am writing this review I am prepping it for a return), 1st issue is that the grips underneath are slippery and every time we push the open latch the microwave would slide back to the wall. The 2nd thing is the latch or button that opens the microwave doesn't do its job by popping the door open. We fight by pushing over and over to get the door to open. It is a hassle and lost our patience with it that we are returning for another one but not the same.

Noisy and sluggish. This is not a great purchase. The size is good as it’s on the small side but it just can’t compare to other microwave ovens.

Very disappointed in the quality of brand like ge. Have to exert pressure on the keypad . I have to keep repositioning microwave every other use. Pushing buttons pushes machine back. Also bar to open not very substantial. It does heat and cook very well.

The food doesn't heat up as fast. I usually have to reheat my dinner on 3-4 minutes instead of 2.

We've had this just over a year and the lining is bubbling and peeling off. It seems to have excessive condensation inside when it is used for more than a minute or two.. not sure if that is why or what has caused the bubbling. No, it's not a hot spot from food. Never seen this before, even on old crappy microwaves at the office.

I am a loyal client of Best Buy. However, when I bought this defective item from Best Buy made by GE, you simply washed your hands of the problem and told e to take this up with GE. GE customer service is worthless. I will not buy another product from GE because of how they handled this matter. I'm also reevaluating my decision of having bought from Best Buy if they are not going to stand by what they sell.
