This was the exact fridge I wanted. Other vendors did not have it in stock because of the color. I did not want stainless steel. This fridge has the dual ice maker capability. Everything is very well lit and the two produce drawers are higher up, which my husband loves. It makes it easier to see what is in them. The only thing I do not like about it is on the left side door, the racks are very narrow. Still figuring out things to fit in there. So far the skinny small sesame oil bottles fit, some spice jars. But the right door makes up for it, holding large items, including juice and milk. The color of the front looks like a dark black led and the sides are a darker more matte black. Also on the front ice/water panel, the words " water/ crushed /cubed" dont light up even if you press light. But we have just memorized the settings (for nighttime use)

The refrigerator has plenty of space inside. The ice maker capacity is small.

I love my new GE Slate refrigerator because it does not show any fingerprints. This color goes perfectly with the freshly painted Wintersweet gray kitchen cabinets in our newly remodeled home. We upgraded to all the matching appliances and I am very happy with this purchase.

Purchased all new kitchen appliances. Installed myself, everything went well. Only small issue protective film installed under seals and cannot be removed.

This refrigerator is everything I hoped it would be! The lighting is excellent, and the set up inside makes it easy to find and retrieve items. My only concern is that the water dispenser drips after getting water and is a bit noisy.

It is not unusual to see a few drops of water dripping from the dispenser on your refrigerator after having dispensed water. This is caused by pressure on the water line and changes in temperature causing some condensation to form and drip. If water drips long after the dispenser was used, we recommend calling Bodewell, our service team directly at 1-833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET to have your refrigerator evaluated and repaired as needed. -Vikki@GEAppliances <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/GE_Appliances.jpg" alt="GE_Appliances" title="GE_Appliances" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

All in all its a wonderful fridge. We upgraded from a 17 cu ft. to this massive 27.8 and are mostly pleased with its performance. One thing I love about this fridge compared to others is that you don't lose half a shelf inside the fridge for the ice maker or the water filter. Now onto the negatives: Even after adjusting our doors to the maximum level of adjustment, we were never able to get them perfectly lined up the way they should be. This has caused the shelf on the left door to scratch against the right door when we open just the left door. For a two person family, the ice maker struggles to keep up with our ice consumption on a super hot day. I do wish it made ice a little faster or had a "turbo ice" feature that we could turn on to get more ice. We have to try and create a surplus of ice by dumping excess ice into a bucket in the freezer on cooler days in order to make sure we have enough for the hot days. The bottom of the fridge puts off considerably more heat that I would like. Walking past it, you can feel the heat on your feet which worries me that its going to cause long-term damage to cabinets or floors. All in all, its a good fridge. It had the features we wanted, so we can live with the bad.

Good, convenient design. Works as expected. Slate color is attractive and not a fingerprint magnet. The unit could be a little quieter in it's operation but is not excessively louder than our 19 year old unit it replaced. You get used to it. I'd buy it again when on sale.

We’ve had this refrigerator for 2 or 3 weeks. We’re completely satisfied with its performance. However it’s sometimes very noisy with a loud humming sound. Most of the time it’s quiet, but when it’s noisy it’s objectionable.

We received our new fridge about two months ago and love it. The shelves are well organized - we don't lose things in the back of the fridge like we did with our previous fridge. The freezer is spacious with plenty of room. It also looks great in our kitchen. Only con is the fan noise is a little louder than I would have expected. It doesn't bother us but something I noticed after having it installed.

Having struggled with a side by side because of a nearby wall, this fridge was just what we needed! Having the slim line ice maker in the door is perfect because we have enough clearance to remove the maker and clear any ice build up without difficulty. We love the color and finish and have been overall very pleased with this unit.

The ice and water functions are loud! The water drips after you get water. We like the shelves adjustability. The freezer is big and holds more than our side by side. We like it.

GE did a great job at making a refrigerator that looks good and has plenty of room inside. However, it seems as if their engineers have dropped the ball. The compressor is louder than most refrigerators I've been around, but not intolerable. The manual mentions that a few water drop may drip after using the water dispenser...and it does. But, why??, I haven't had this problem in any other refrigerator that I have used. Also, and perhaps most annoying, is the loud double thunk that occurs when the water shuts off after filling the ice cube tray. I was told by customer service that noises like this are normal, and that a service technician could be sent out, but I would be charged for a service call if it was deemed normal. So, now after only having the refrigerator for about 1-1/2 months, I can just accept the noise, or roll the dice that I won't get charged for the service call. I just replaced all the kitchen appliances with GE Slate appliances, so I really don't have the option of returning the refrigerator for a different brand. I'll talk to Best Buy next to see what I might do next...at least their customer service has been helpful.

Overall very pleased with the fridge, looks very nice and has plenty of space and features. Only negatives, which are not too bad, are the noise level is on the high side and after filling a cup of water there is frequently an extra drip or two that will drop and sit on the tray.

Love the fridge however it's very loud. We can hear fridge running over the TV if volume is low service guys left green plastic pieces sticking out around edges of the rubber lining. Size is great and overall function is good No problems so far!

I am just over the whole Stainless Steele hype! Yes, it does make your kitchen look nicely upgraded but I can't stand the fingerprints and water splashes and smears! So I opted for the Slate, and my kitchen still looks higher end! Love this refrigerator, it is quite large and very quiet! I love that I no longer have ugly smudges, it wipes clean easily! I also bought the matching stove and microwave, next I am going to purchase the dishwasher!

Door dispenser may shoot ice out. Plenty of room in the fridge and the freezer. Ice maker can be noisy. No dairy shelf included or available. You think if you paid $2,000 for a fridge you would get a dairy Shelf
