This review is more for the word refurbished than for the product itself. I have been using apple pencil (1st generation) since I got my tablet last year. I love how it works and the user functionality and the ease to which it connects to my tablet. I wish it charged differently but It works well for what we are told the pencil can do. I had lost my pencil before a trip and was borrowing someone elses. When returning I decided to cave and just buy a new pencil. I went to the Tempe Marketplace store and they happen to have a refurbished one. It said it was an excellent refurbished item with all the attachments as needed. Once I opened the product I noticed that the pen did not have the cover and the extras (the extra tip and charger) were not there either. I'm just curious what the requirements are and if someone actually looks at the product before they put it back or do they just trust what customers tell them when returning it. Again the product itself is worth it. Though I don't know that I will buy refurbished again. It is easy enough to find the replacement parts online so I went ahead and just did that.

It works great and is nice for precision work. The amount of force you use determines the thickness of the line drawn. I do wish you could just plug it in to charge instead of having to plug it into the iPad’s charging port. But, it does charge rapidly. All in all, it is a great product and a must have for any one with an iPad Pro or 2018 iPad.

I bought a pencil and happily waited the few days until it arrived, unfortunately when i plugged it in i found out it would NOT charge at all. The battery is dead, and it won't charge past 0%. Thanks for the defective and broken pencil best buy. Is this what you call "certified refurbished"? And was it even checked before it was sold? Please just pay the extra $25 for a NEW pencil instead, and don't take the gamble. The return process is honestly not worth the headache at all, especially at this time of year.

This should not cost that much. Apple makes great products but always overhyped/expensive. Works great for writing and drawing. Wish it came with a holder/attachment to iPad. The cap feels like you can easily lose it. Charging via device feels really awkward in how it sticks out. Feels like it could easily break off.

I always worry about buying refurbished products. Considering the item was returned, often for a reason which may, or may not be disclosed . . . I envision I get a product, the product has unresolved issues, someone checks it out and may, or may not find the issue, then I have to waste my time (time=money . . . in this case) effectively taking away any savings I made in purchasing refurbished. Thing is . . . I've taken a chance a few times on Geek Squad refurbished items . . . this Apple Pencil being the latest . . . and I've been delighted to find out that Geek Squad certified refurbished items really are thoroughly gone over & fully functional. In this case . . . as with the last several purposes . . . I saved some dosh & had no problems! Bravo Geek Squad!!!

I am overall very satisfied with the Apple Pencil. I purchased the 2018 (6th gen) ipad because it supported this excellent stylus and so far has met or exceeded my expectations with the only day-to-day gripe of the battery draining continuously requiring a recharge every day or so regardless of whether it's being used or not. Use a stylus? Buy it, you won't regret it.

I was really excited to receive the Apple Pencil. It works wonderfully with my iPad. I only wish it was more grippable and that there was a different charging method other than the weird lighting charger sticking out the end, just waiting to get snapped off. Still love this thing though.

Works as expected! no issues with the pencil itself. It has some lag if you write really fast but I think that is expected with this version of Apple Pencil. The packaging was not that great since I bought the refurbished one.

Downside is that the charging is not practical. While plugged into the lighting port on my iPad, I accidentally hit the apple pen and cracked the base of it. Upside is that the pen writes seamlessly.

Works exactly how you’d expect from Apple. The usual complaints: easy to lose cap, inconvenient charging, and the fact that we’re on the 7th gen iPad but using 1st gen Apple Pencil.

Great product especially to write short notes. Should have a separate charger. Can easily be broken while charging in the port.

The product although is refurbishes; it looks flawless. I have it now for several months and have no issue. Works on the new iPad 6 and iPad pro first edition.

I love my pen, I use it almost everyday I have class. No defects either. I was skeptical about it being refurbished but it was GREAT! No problems

I have always been happy with my refurbished purchases and this one is no exception. It works like it is supposed to, and I saved a few bucks as well, plus free shipping. The only issue is the known design flaw of having the connector protrude from the iPad when charging, easy to break it off by accident. Apple addressed this with their next gen pencil but the new one is not compatible with the latest standard iPad, which is stupid. As far as this pencil goes, 5 stars!

This pen is worth it if you use it willingly. I consciously use this pen when using my iPad and it becomes more and more convenient. Must buy for the ”techie guy”.
