I'm a huge God of War fan so after getting a PS4, this was my first game. Disappointed with some of the rudimentary controls/cameras that made things that should have been simple far more complicated. Story is good, but found myself far more frustrated than I'd have expected.

Standing alongside other remasters such as The Last of Us, Uncharted Collection and Grand Theft Auto V, the lack of added features make this a hard remaster to recommend if you have ever played this on the PS3. It looks nice at 1080p and 60FPS, but you would be hard-pressed to notice a difference between this and the PS3 version, even when running side-by-side.

I never played any of the other games in the series and I wasn't overtly concerned with the plot as well as not being certain as to what was going on. With that being said I found the game to be fairly short and while the weapons and fighting style were interesting I would far and away recommend DMC over this game. DMC had a similar, albeit superior, fighting style with a more engaging and interesting story, while also lasting much longer. At $10 though it wasn't a terrible purchase, but again it was just that...nothing spectacular

I so enjoyed the God of War reboot, I decided to get God of War 3 - since it’s regarded as the best in the series and a PlayStation classic. It’s alright. Not amazing, but fun combat, visuals, and puzzles. It’s cheap now so probably worth it’s small price. But I preferred the reboot.

nothing different about this at all from the ps3 version besides higher rez and 60 fps, would have been nice to include the other 2 but at first this was 40 bucks for the exact same game, you can find it on salfe for like 5 bucks now a days, amazing game if youre new to it.

I do enjoy a good hack and slash game and God of War 3 was one of my favorites. I decided to buy the HD remake to relive those days hoping that maybe there would be a few new elements to the game but sadly it is just the basic game it was before. Same control scheme, same battles, same experiences, and no multiplayer. A co-op mode would have been lovely in an updated game with a horde mode type gameplay (but unlike Ascension because that game didn't do a good job at it). I would have given this game more stars if it wasn't for the fact that all they did was bump up the graphics. I feel like this game was made just to get nostalgic players to buy it. All in all it is still a great game but be wary if you want a new experience with God of War you have to wait for the next installment of the series.

I thought it would be more like the 4th game but it’s completely different. It took me a while to get used to the controls, but once I did it was pretty fun.

I will say that this is a great game, as was the original. Honestly, the graphics on the PS3 for this game were probably some of the best the console had to offer. So at a $40 price point, with no major improvements or love put into the game other than 1080p/60fps, I feel it's asking a lot. Just look at the Nathan Drake Collection. It's $20 more, but they actually re-worked the game mechanics, improved the graphics, and included 3 games. I never finished GOW3 on PS3 which is why I bought it again. Bottom line, if you've already played it on PS3, you're not missing anything new. If you've never played the game or are new to the PS hardware, definitely pick it up. It's one of the better games on last-gen.

As a PS4 early adopter I missed out on the tail end of some of my PS3 backlog games , GOW3 being one of them (yes , the backlog was that big). I am really enjoying running through the game in HD, but in all honestly I'm not sure theres significant improvement enough over the PS3 version to make it worth a buy (especially if you've already played the original) Even if you haven't played the original , in all honestly I would probably suggest playing it via Playstation Now (online streaming) assuming you have a good enough internet connection. Either that or wait for it to drop in price on Blackfriday or some interim BBY.COM sale.

Great game, always was but "remastered" is a stretch. Graphically from PS3 to the PS4 is not a huge leap, possibly because the game pushed the limits on the PS3 but I was really disappointed when it looked pretty close to the PS3 version. Also, they didn't update the crummy camera angles/controls so you're stuck with not seeing a lot of the game. If you haven't played the PS3 version then you will enjoy the game but if you have played it on the PS3 then you will be disappointed for basically paying to play the exact same game .

With the recently released (2018) and amazing God of War on the PS4 playing through God of War III remastered is a huge step back. The game is 1 to 1 the same exact game released in 2010 for the Playstation 3 with no new content, very slightly upgraded visuals and a new photo mode which adds nothing to the game itself. Unless you haven't played it yet than it might be worth checking out but otherwise its a purchase worth skipping.

I think it's cool and all, but it's kind of hard and I think I'd rather just watch someone play it for the narrative.

Im an xbox fan, my brother got a PS4 and i decided to give it a try to relive my childhood. playstation was life. so i got god of war to see what the hype was all about. the game goes right into action with out any review or layover. with games like halo, and other exclusives for xbox, PS4 needs to up their game, because i have been wanting to go back to playstation. Hopefully the release of crash bandicoot will boost things up for them

It has major graphics improvements compared to the original.

If you played it on ps3 you don't need it on ps4. The visually upgrade isn't as big as some of the other remastered games on ps4. It does run at 60fps but with the camera view in this game, it's not as noticeable as a racing game or a fps. If you never played it before then it's an excellent game that you'll thoroughly enjoy.

I have to be honest I am a huge God Of War fan and I own all of them across vita and ps3. About a month ago I bought GOW 3 for ps3 from games top for $1.99 just to relive the glory days. I hooked my ps3 up to my 55" Vizio 4K and was shocked how good it looked so when the PS4 version went on sale I jumped on it just so I wouldn't have to hook up my PS3 anymore this is where things went bad. I literally cannot distinguish a difference in the ps3 to the PS4 version except for the price this is a poor remake and to call it remastered is a shame get uncharted collection instead :)

Don't get me wrong god of war 3 is a great game.... but I feel this remaster isn't great. To me the game is almost the same as it was 5 years ago on ps3. Gameplay is fluid and of coarse the 1080p upgrade is welcome, as well as 60fps but I feel a god of war saga remaster would've justified the price tag and made more sense to newcomers.

The graphical quality of this remaster doesn't feel far ahead of how it looked on PS3. The game itself is the conclusion to the God of War trilogy, but doesn't excite me like the first game in the series did. At a good, price, this is worth picking up, but isn't a jaw-dropping upgrade.

God of War is an extremely noteworthy video game franchise. Anyone who has played the first two God of War games can attest to this. That being said, I think the graphics in God of War 3 are leaps and bounds better than the first two games, however the story seems repetitive at this point. 3/5

...just a little bit prettier. If you want a visual spectacle, this is the game for you; however, if you want something with a good story and a likable main character...this is not the game for you. That said, if you've never played GoWIII, it's worth checking out just for the visuals alone.
