GRIP is a fun arcade racer, though it is not without its issues. This game was made by a developer (Caged Element) that had fond memories of Rollcage, and wanted to make a game like it, similarly to how Horizon Chase Turbo is made in the vein of the old Top Gear games on the SNES. They did, by and large, a pretty good job. The visuals are not too bad for a downport from more powerful hardware, but unfortunately there are a few tracks/arenas that do still have framerate issues as of the current version (1.0.8.) The Switch version also only supports 2-player split-screen instead of the 4-player available on other systems. The track design is somewhat of a mixed bag. Generally speaking, the more open/wide tracks are more enjoyable than the more technical/narrower tracks. In the latter, the weapons are more difficult to use. More annoyingly, some of the track design tends to lead to some jankiness where your vehicle will unexpectedly end up bouncing violently after a landing or becoming attracted gravitationally to the wrong part of the track, more than likely costing you enough time to ruin a chance at a good finish on the harder difficulty settings. You can restart races, thankfully, but losing due to jank is definitely frustrating! There's also arenas that are straight-up car battles (ala something akin to Twisted Metal, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's battle mode, etc.), which can be fun although the AI doesn't tend to be very competent (though, the same could also be said about MK8 Deluxe.) The controls work fine, I personally didn't have any issues with them. The physics are generally OK, too, though as mentioned above, the occasional bit of jank likes to rear its head every so often. GRIP has a flavor all its own, and I don't regret picking it up. In general I liked it, though I waffled as to what rating to give it. I ended up rating it at 4 stars, but honestly if I could I would have given it 3 1/2 stars. It's fun game with some annoying flaws that hold it back from true greatness. I would recommend this to those that can put up with this game's quirks.

This game is very fast and so competitive. It’s like a game that gets you. It’s so fast and you go upside down and it’s simply a rush. One of my favorite racers. Pick this up while you can. It’s an afternoon enjoyed.

Fun little racing game with a twist as you can race on the side wall and upside down! Fast pace for sure . I got this on sale for five bucks so it was well worth it. Not sure if I would pay more than fifteen but overall pretty good game. Worth a try for the right price.

Had to have this game in my collection, reminds me a lot of Extreem G for the N64. High speed racing with weapons what's not to love. The $5 price tag for a physical Nintendo Switch game was a no brainer, you wont be disappointed

I love this game, I have vigilante 8 on my N64, and Grip is absolutely the best spiritual successor ever. The tracks fun and some tough. Multiplayer is so much fun!

So far, I’ve enjoyed the small time I’ve played of the game. It nails the futuristic racer vibe. Definitely not in the same league as Mario Kart or a mainline series, but frantic and fun nonetheless. Everything moves and breakneck speeds and I think they intend for you to crash a lot. No matter when you crash or for how long, you always seems to be able to work your way back up the ranks - via rubber-banding no doubt. Best part of everything - I grabbed the physical copy for $5 on sale.

This game is fun. I like the fast pace racing and combat. Picture Mario Kart for adults combined with Jet Moto from ps1.

Fun local mutliplayer , online too I think. Does have a somewhat muted dated graphic feel, kinda washed out feeling if you know what I mean, not bad graphics just not the COLOR palette I am used to with nintendo platform games... but still fun game and worth the money.

Fun game. I bought it because it was on sale (for $5), so I wasn't expecting much. Wanted to try a different racing game on switch (other than Mario Kart). Worth trying out for cheap, but no way near the joy of Mario Kart.

A major disadvantage of this title is huge frame rate drops, where high and constants FPS is crucial for this kind of game. Also graphics quality during a race is poor, the most noticeable is low resolution, race looks totally different than on advertisements in the official NS shop, it's just a cheating customers... I hope ports for other platforms are more polished than for Nintendo Switch... Port for NS is not worth any penny and any storage space on your Switch.

Just started playing this one. It is more difficult than mario kart but for me that is more enjoyable. I love the different tracks and most of all... YOUR CAR CAN STILL DRIVE UPSIDE DOWN AND ON WALLS!!!

I was not expecting much since i bought the game for the price of an app. The game has pretty good mechanics and enough challenge to keep you coming back. Pretty cool concept to be able to drive upside down and right side up.

Game is fast paced and fun but the AI get kind of annoying. If you are in first they never let you get to far ahead, so its better to hang back and then make a push on final lap.

Grabbed this cheap just to have some variety. Didn’t expect much. But this is a pretty polished title for a game I didn’t know existed. Similar to wipeout franchise except u can jump on the walls and ceiling
