Bought this laptop to replace my old HP laptop since I’ve had to work from home and no regrets! Great computer, fast, reliable and great storage space (I have the Adobe Creative Cloud installed and no “hiccups”!). Would recommend!

For its price, It is an amazing laptop! Ryzen 7 architecture which is down to 4 cores (due to the complexity of having to fit a GPU chipset and CPU chipset in the same space). I also love the advantage that 16 GB Memory offers over other units. However, when you boot and check RAM you'll see it's down to 13GB. That's because the GPU or Graphics Processing Unit is a mini-computer with separate memory, but because you're buying a laptop, it will probably have integrated graphics. That means that the CPU and GPU are in the same space and the GPU has to use preinstalled system memory. That's why the computer says it has 13.3 GB of ram available instead of 16GB. I love the overall speed and performance of the laptop, however, boot and load times are quite slow because it's an HDD rather than an SSD. That is my one complaint with this computer but I'm going to swap it out for an SSD soon. In conclusion, I could not be happier with any other product.

16 ish gigs of ram (my computer is showing 13.9 gig) and a ryzen 7. I got this computer when it was only $500 ish. For that price I could not be beaten. most computers come with only 8 gigs so I see this as a plus. The battery is not omg great but not horrible either. I would say if this computer had a better battery it would be a huge plus. My big complaint is there is no m.2 slot on the motherboard. I do wish there was one but for an extra 99$ I got a 1T SSD so the issue with slow storage is resolved. Disassembly is easy enough just make sure you take out the two screws from where the DVD drive is and the 6 screws from under the rubber pads.

This laptop is upsized from my previous laptop. I love the bigger screen size! If you are into the adaptability of a larger screen size, this laptop is a prime choice. The memory and storage fit perfectly for my season in school. Make sure to get a backpack or sleeve that will protect and cover the laptop. Targus - Voyager II is my go-to pack for this laptop.

I bought this laptop for my husband who is not tolerant of tech issues. He has been using it and has not had even one complaint. This is my highest praise. The laptop is fast and was easy to set up. It has the connections that he needs to work at home and to do presentations. I would buy it again..

Had this laptop a little while now. I use it daily for 3D disign and printing mostly and a decent amount of gaming. Over all its a work horse. Has no problem running the software i use for slicing and disign. Its soynd system in about average. For doing basic office work or for someone just getting into PC gaming and not looking to spend a ton of cash up front, this is deff your choice. I have had it running high end graphics and have hit 124 fps with some tuning. For a laptop with 16gb DDR4 and a ryzen 7 3700 $500 is a steal. Now im not saying this is the best laptop i have ever owned. I mean compaired to a $5000 laptop its nothing. What your getting os a average laptop for a third of the price.

Use for work and web surfing- works good. Not as fast as I would have thought but great price and love the larger screen size so I don’t miss anything!

(FYI This will be a long read) First things first, I thought this laptop for the price was going to be much worse than it actually is. But once I started installing programs and running them I was ASTONISHED! GAMING PERFORMANCE: I was really surprised when I started up GTA 5 and I was able to get a solid 40-45 fps when playing. (on medium settings) This is obviously not meant to be a gaming laptop, but for the casual games, it will be just fine. Older titles will run amazingly on this laptop. OVERALL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE: So I was so surprised by how well this Ryzen 7 3700U performed with the AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 GPU and 16 Gbs of RAM. I installed Adobe Photoshop 19, Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Premiere Pro 2019 (haven't tried editing a video but I'm sure it will perform okay), and all these demanding software ran as smooth as butter. I was running BOTH Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Lightroom and the CPU usage was only at 45%, While the RAM was at almost max (but that is expected with Adobe products because they use so much RAM). Now you are probably wondering about the 5400 RPM HDD that comes with it from the factory. I will say that the fan does run quite loudly on this laptop, due to only having 1 fan to cool both the CPU & GPU. HDD INFO: The read & write speeds are decent when paired with this processor and ram. I was getting 55 MB/s when transferring files from a USB 3.1 flash drive to the laptop and the same speed when transferring files from the laptop to the Flash drive. Obviously, If you replaced this HDD with an SSD you would get much better performance with most things you do on the laptop. I would say overall, this laptop gets an 8 out of 10. For the price you will pay for this right now, it is a great deal. Currently @ $529.99. Hope this review helps!

I've had this laptop about a year now, and it's worked swimmingly with minimal issues. In a year where I've been exclusively working from home it's been nice to avoid the regular little issues from my previous Dell. It's also pretty light for a 17" laptop, which was a nice surprise. The battery life is still pretty good after a year, and I've even been able to do some light gaming.

Bought this to work from home during Covid-19 crisis. The computer was easy to setup and works flawlessly with the VPN connection I am using to work remotely. The 17' screen is great for viewing spread sheets and other oversized documents. The stealth matte black finish is a nice change from all the silver and gray.

What can I say? It's a great laptop for the price I got it. Memory wise with nowadays stuff like games and other programs upgrading the RAM to 32 and HDD to something higher than 2 TB is recommended. Overall though it's a great laptop.

This is my 4th HP 17" laptop. I was working on an HP 15" laptop - it was nice in its day, but at 5-6 years old, it was on its last legs. I got this laptop to replace it, and I'm very happy I did. A 17" screen is so much easier to work with than a smaller one. Those extra 2" make a huge difference! The screen is clear. The keyboard has the perfect amount of tension in the keys. The camera and sound are clear. And the wi-fi is perfect - no problems using any type of connection, phone, satellite, or cable. I'm glad I bought this laptop!

Lightweight, great computing power and storage capacity. Acceptably rapid startup. Used in business with full Office 365, Visio, and MS Project plus a host of business support applications. Bright screen, goodly amount of real estate. Resolution choices are OK, top res is not the highest you could get for a pricier computer but it is quite acceptable. Power suppy adequate but could be larger. Recharge time OK, battery operating time is OK, don't plan on more than 4 hours if you want full screen functionality and brilliance. This is my second purchase of this same item, the other is 3 years old and still going strong.

With everyone learning and working from home, we found ourselves in need of a newer laptop. Was shopping for a friend when I found this. Just a wonderful machine. Good amount of RAM, 17" screen, fine processor, decent sound, built in card reader, and a 1T hard drive which is perfect. IRL a HD last about the same as an SSD they are now discovering-don’t spend hundreds more for a paltry 250g SSD. The only weak spot is the camera. Rather poor quality but sufficient enough for conferences or chatting. We were lucky to get one of these!

Very much enjoying this new computer, and its dramatically improved performance compared to the machine it replaced. (But I have no complaints about, and feel a bit nostalgic about, my former computer, a venerable HP Pavilion 17" dv7 that served me well for 10 years and which I replaced only after it could no longer digest the large Windows cumulative updates without reinstalling the entire operating system, which I did a half-dozen times in as many months!)

I am a HP laptop fan and this is my fourth one. This laptop fits the bill for my very casual gaming and general web surfing. The only caveats are the hard drive and plastic body. The 5400 rpm platter hard drive is almost inexcusable when 2tb SSD ones are now “affordable.” Luckily, replacing it is very easily accomplished! The screen’s max resolution of 1600x900 good for my aging eyes (although my old 2 core HP Envy has a higher one). Crysis is still my “go to” game for benchmarking low to midrange laptop performance and this handles it well!

Nice big screen, great for splitting the screen to work on two different programs. Bought to be used as a part-time work from home computer.
