So long as the bottles are stored in a stable temperature (5 to 95 degrees Farenheit) and kept properly sealed, they should not dry out. However, as with all printers, we do recommend printing at least once a week in order to keep everything fresh in your printer and to prevent any damage to the printhead.

Unopened HP 31 ink bottles have an approximate shelf life of up to 4 years when stored properly in a cool, dry place and kept sealed. Once opened, HP recommends using the ink within 6 months.
