Print mostly in black and shouldn’t have to replace so often.

Hello,
I am sorry that the color cartridges don't seem to last long. I hope to help this situation somewhat.
When printing in black and white, I'd advise you to change the settings to print black only (sometimes color is used kind of like primer paint to make the black areas look "blacker").
Even when printing mostly black, you will still (very rarely) have to get color cartridges because the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper will clog unless they are cleared regularly. When you are not using a color, the printer will have to use a tiny bit of ink during maintenance to clear the nozzles for that color. Not doing so could ruin the printhead.
You can avoid some ink usage by turning the printer off when it is not in use. One caution about that though. The printer should always be turned off using the printer's power button. That will let the it 'park' so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. The drying can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If the poor performance appears to be because the cartridge was defective or damaged, you should be able to return it to the seller. According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."
