For our anniversary my husband bought me the HP Spectre x360 laptop but it wasn't complete til I bought the HP Active Stylus pen. I that's is magnetic and I can hover overe my screen and get my work done without touching it. Love it!!!

I bought for use with the HP Spectre x360. HP has done an excellent job on the design and functionality of that laptop -- I am really pleased with it. :) Anyway, despite initially reading some negative reviews about the HP active stylus, I bought anyway since it was the HP brand. However, as other reviews mention, I had the same experience of requiring excessive pressure in order to write on the screen. As eluded by some other reviews, the Dell Active Stylus for Dell Tablets (750-AAGN - rev 03) worked much better on the x360. I bought one of these as well to compare, and the sensitivity was significantly better, and never cut-out like the HP stylus would. I ended up returning the HP active stylus (for store credit -- thanks Best Buy allowing past the 14 day return policy), and I am much happier with the Dell stylus -- model 750-AAGN. Palm rejection and variable pressure sensitivity all work really well on the HP Spectre x360 digitizer touch screen.

I'm not sure why this stylus is quite so expensive. It does what you'd expect it to do and there are in fact active controls, but I sometimes felt like I had to push harder than I'd expect, and I still saw gaps in lines I drew using my HP Spectre X360. I'm not sure whether the laptop or the stylus is to blame, to be honest, but for this price, you'd expect it to work better with the machine it appears to be built for.

I bought this for my wife's laptop, the HP Spectre x360. After getting the batteries in place and getting it set to use, it worked well with no modifications. HP doesn't advertise this too heavily as working with their Spectre x360 line, though they should. The pressure sensitivity and erasing worked well as did tapping on screen for basic interaction. Once MS Office apps noted the stylus, the "Draw" menu became available. Writing and tapping using those options worked well and I can see this being useful for jotting notes/pics as needed. I did realize that if the batteries and/or stylus get too hot before using (such as when sitting in a car), you can have serious overheating problems. After cooling off, this didn't affect the way the stylus worked, but it was a bit worrisome at first. Overall, it's a bit pricey, but if you have an HP Spectre x360 and want a stylus to go with it like some other PCs in this price range, it's worth considering.

After buying my HP Spectre I wanted to explore the idea of utilizing a stylus. After researching that this was the best product for my 2-1. I took a chance to see what the fuss was about. Turns out its worth the price if you're looking to utilize your 2-1 as an actual 2-1. This stylus makes it easy to write and navigate on my HP Spectre. It didn't take long to get used to! The only reason it isn't five stars is the price.

I found out it is used for drawing lines and such. It works good for that reason but it's not a stylus like I thought. It's a cool device to play with, you don't even have to touch the screen for it to work. It is too much money for what it does.

This pen has been effective for my purposes (some sketching, cuneiform, OneNote, etc.). It isn't the best pen available, that title definitely belongs to the Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3, but it is adequate. It is a bit overpriced.

had trouble staying on tablet without pressing too hard. eraser feature was hard to use. swithced to 5 dollar one, just as good

I was hoping I could use this artistically in adobe illustrator or photoshop but it really is not at that level. Palm rejection works but no sensitivity and not great for accuracy. I was hoping for the level of the surface pen or the pen 52 for apples iPad. It takes notes okay, but I would pry save your money.

It's great to be able to write with such accuracy, as well as sketching/drawing. I have observed a couple of friends use this pen with their artistic abilities. They made it look so easy. The pen performed perfectly

This stylus works fantastically for my HP x360 Spectre. I really like that when I am writing with this, my hand can rest on the screen without causing extra marks or the cursor to jump around. There are a couple of minor issues, such as a relatively short battery life (about a month, but I am a student who uses this every day), but at least the AAAA batteries are cheap! Also, it will freeze up/not work sometimes in OneNote, but restarting the program usually takes care of it. Great product!

Sometimes unresponsive, not as sensitive as I expect, the pen is overall well make, however it use hard to find 4A battery. If you really really want a stylus, then get it, otherwise it is a $60 paper weight.

I read a LOT of negative reviews about this stylus and still decided to order it. I'm trying to go all digital as a student, and a stylus is vital since I take a lot of math/chemistry/engineering courses. I'm using this stylus in conjunction with a HP Spectre X360 and I have not had a single problem with it. It tracks very well, and never misses any strokes. I make notes almost exclusively in OneNote, and the palm detection is excellent. I've had some problems with palm detection in powerpoint (making notes right on slides) though. That is a problem with the program however, and not this stylus. I don't use it for art, but it is perfect for students who need to make notes that aren't all text.

I bought this somewhat on impulse at checkout when purchasing my new HP Spectre x360 because I just HAD to have it to use with my new touchscreen device. I'm not sure how much the compatibility of getting an HP stylus to use with your HP device actually influences the performance. A generic brand stylus would probably work just as well, buy I haven't tried any other one besides this one. I only returned it because I started to realize that I wouldn't be using the stylus as much as I thought. Any touchscreen features that I use frequently work best just using my fingers. Basically, I had buyer's remorse for spending the extra $60 when I couldn't really afford to.

Okay I love the pen. I love how accurate it is. Inlove how I can finally do art on my computer without drawing it scanning it in redrawing it etc etc. I love that I can quickly write notes and make comments on things. It is easy to stay organized and functional with this pen and my laptop. The DOWNSIDE is it REQUIRES a AAAA battery. No that is not a typo. Its not AAA, its AAAA. I have NO IDEA why this pen needs a battery but it does. So, if you buy it plan to buy batteries unusual batteries. Although I have had it for about a month though and have not needed to replace the battery yet - with moderate use.

Overall, the stylus works well. I am still learning the full capabilities of this stylus. Unfortunately, it is magnetic, but the chassis of the Spectre is an alloy and the stylus does not remain attached.

The stylus works great. It feels comfortable in the hand. As well as, it writes smoothly with HP products. The only down side is my buttons are a bit fidgety with some applications.

Great price. Pen is thicker than most stylus. Had to apply a lot of pressure in order for pen to react on hp x360.

Given that you don't have any options for the Dell/HP tablets, this pen is somewhat functional. But the battery life is way too short and it is not very accurate in capture writing.

A great stylus, but it does take a much harder tap on the screen that I was expecting to get it to register. Haven't tried it with painting programs yet, but I am hopeful for the best.
