Fantastic. Fast, powerful, beautiful. The black keyboard is 100 times better than the silver (the silver keyboard sucks you cant see the keys and i have beyond 20/20 vision); you can actually see the keys on this black model. This my second Envy and i rarely buy 2 of anything. It functions well and looks great. It feels very sturdy. There is nothing to worry about when folding it over. It feels strong. The touchscreen works great. I love using it to sign documents quickly and easily. The built in camera shutter is super cool. Love the fingerprint recognition, it works super fast.

I don’t normally do reviews, and I will not get too technical as this is not my way of making a living. However this laptop has exceeded my expectations, the screen brightness is exceptional given that it’s a laptop, although it’s only a 1080P, it still looks very crisp and high DEF has a 4K say on a larger screen, The new Ryzen 7 5700U (basically a rebranded Ryzen 5 4800U is snappy (8 core, 16 logical) with a 4 core graphics chip played some esports games just fine. Not necessarily on the highest settings, and I could tell there was a slight bit of input lag possibly because of the screen what have you but playable, definitely not competition level playable. And I was getting anywhere between 30 to 120 FPS depending on the games. Very acceptable. LI will say this 400 nit IPS screen is gorgeous! And the touch screen is very responsive. Although I rarely use the touchscreen. And as an added bonus I love the backlit keyboard and the very fancy feeling aluminum case and the Bang & Olufsen speaker sound quality is better than expected. Those are the pros, the main con that I have is the price point. Maybe I am griping, but even at just under $1000 after taxes, I feel that is a lot to pay for a laptop computer. But I guess you get what you pay for.

Been two years since I’ve had the laptop. Only until now has it given me any problems. Otherwise, runs perfectly

I really like the size of this laptop. The build quality is great. The screen is beautiful and the 2in1 is great, I use it a lot. The aluminum surface is a fingerprint magnet, but it can be wiped down. My only gripe is with the RAM. Why only 8GB? It should either be upgradable, or you should have a 16GB option. I really wanted an i7 or Ryzen 7 with 16GB. Best Buy had limited stock on their laptops, and I was leaving for a trip, but the $300 off price reduction was topo good to pass up. The Ryzen 7 is great, does not get to hot and speed is great. SSD size is a plus too, but I think the sweet spot on i7/Ryzen 7 systems with 512 GB SSD should be 16GB of RAM. Really happy with this laptop so far.

Purchased this as a backup browse / work device. Love the design and performance. However, the HP x360 trackpad... is the worst I've ever encountered. Efforts to resolve with Support did not work and the tech acknowledged the problem after sharing a video. Simple summary: you cannot left click and then reliably use the trackpad to highlight, move or interact with the screen. Don't think that's a big deal? Try editing a document or creating a presentation where you have to move things around on the screen. It even sabotages basic browsing -- often the "two-finger scroll" is flaky... but the left-click / drag for page scroll bars is completely broken. All this is solved if I plug in a USB mouse, but I didn't buy a laptop designed for self-contained use to have to plug-in essential hardware. And for context, none of our other laptops (Lenovo, Dell, Apple, or MS Surface) suffer from the input problems encountered with the HP trackpad. The other devices just work. I wanted to love this device and give it high marks for battery, speed, display, sound, and material build quality. But the Trackpad/Touchpad has ruined my experience. If the follow-up support (promised by HP) fails to resolve this issue, it's going back to best buy. You've been warned.

I strictly use this computer for casual everyday stuff. I wasn't looking for anything in particular like a powerful gaming computer or anything of the like. I am absolutely more than satisfied, the computer has a fast enough processor, nice display, is fast in general and super reliable. Apart from the fact it has a touch screen, which is always nice to have. Really nice purchase for me. I picked this up when it was on sale, originally like $1200 I ende up paying $899.

Love my new computer. The touch screen is so easy to use. The graphics are so beautiful. Really fast! I had another HP Envy for the last 3 years and just upgraded to this one. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks to the Geek Squad for setting everything up for me.

I love most things about this computer is fast and the battery does well, but I am very disappointed in the audio quality and volume even on the highest setting it still sounds low. What looks like speakers on the top are actually vents, and the speakers are on the bottom of the computer (lower sides). Also the speakers sometimes crackle and I have not found a fix for it yet.

Great overall .. with a great price point. I love the touchscreen, light-up keyboard & fingerprint reader. Fast easy and quick.. HP makes a great product. The only problem is when you fold it over to use as a tablet the bottom of the keyboard is exposed with nothing protecting it

I replaced my 2018 15.6" HP Envy with this model and was surprised to see how much smaller and lighter this model was without compromising on the display at all. The only omission was the full numpad which was a nice thing to have but I see how it no longer fit. Despite its powerful CPU it got good battery life and while I was worried about the 8GB of ram, it felt no different than my 16GB laptops when opening multiple google chrome tabs or doing light gaming. If it had more ram it could easily be a laptop for doing serious tasks but as is it is perfect for school and light office work with an overkill CPU. As with all black laptops, it will get smudges and even the most careful of users will notice small scuffs or chips around the edges where the silver underneath is showing, but this finish is no worse than the much more expensive offerings from Razer or Apple. It looks very modern and professional when in good shape.

It’s a bit on the heavy side for a laptop, but I like it. It has a very sleek design. The processor is incredibly fast. It’s a really great laptop for school.

I LOVE this laptop. I’m a digital artist and a gamer, so I wanted something that could handle heavier programs and not overheat, but something sleek and versatile. This laptop is both. The processor runs smoothly and you get enough RAM to run illustration software and moderate games like minecraft. The graphics chip is okay and gameplay is good. Another thing I love about this laptop is the 2-in-1 design and the touchscreen. Overall, a very good laptop for both school/work and recreation!

This is truly a great laptop. The video quality is top notch and I absolutely loved being able to log in with my fingerprint. In the end, because I do lot of video editing, I had to return it because it only comes with 8GB Memory and it is NOT upgradeable. That is quite unfortunate. I can't for the life of me understand why they would put such a small amount of RAM and not make up upgradeable. I would have gladly paid to have upgraded it, but had I tried to do that, it would have voided the warranty. If 8GB Memory is enough for you, you will love this laptop. If not, however, keep looking.

I like the fingerprint login function. So much easier then trying to remember your passwords or pins. Although one thing still has yet to be taken care of is people can still hack through the heightened security features on the device. Runs fast, works amazing, sound isn’t that bad, picture and color is bright and crisp. Love the comp. Just that security issue still sucks. But what can you do. There’s always someone smarter and more clever! Love this computer! 5 stars for sure!
