I'd like to state that I'm a verified owner. I did NOT just go into a store and touch this unit. This is the rehash of last year model that featured the 9 series GTX GPU, what that model had that this one doesn't, and my only complaint, secondary SSD drive. But they did crank up the speed on the mechanical HDD that comes with this one over last years 5400 RPM, this one is 7200RPM. You get a 7th generation i7 processor which over the 6th gen pretty much means almost equally efficiency for the average consumer but with better battery life. This computer is fairly light. Weights around five pounds so it's a system you can actually use on the top of your lap. No thing special about quality of build out of the ordinary or from last year model. Backlight red keys can be turned off but no different color options. Keys are accurate, track pad is above par but nothing to glorify. I ran some gaming benchmarks. Resident Evil 6 (because it has a lot of screen activity) in full HD 1080P at 60 hertz with all settings on high (note the actual game can use VERY HIGH in some options) but it received an S, which is Japan version of an A. I'll try to upload a photo for proof. EDIT: BBY won't allow a cell phone to upload photo. There will be some noise when you're placing stress on the Gpu. This is a purchase made for my wife. I own Dell Alien ware Gsynv laptop, it's a tank and very loud but again, it's to be expected, this is much more quite in comparison and lighter too. This system is a great one to get work done. Add Geek Squad at least for a year just in case there are issues. You can also purchase a SSD to increase operating system boot speed and the install of the hardware will be covered. You can also increase the ram on this system from 8 to 16 GIG. I'd recommend this to any person that wants to game at max settings on 900P with all the bells and whistles, 1080 expect aroubd 40-50 at max settings. I'd recommend it to content creators both photo and video, and anyone looking for an every day work horse that can get past the black & red theme, do note this has a quad core processor, so it's a better value than most other systems that are running Intel 7th gen dual cores. Any questions please let me know.

I bought this laptop for my daughter's birthday a little over two months ago. She has played various games on it without any difficulties with lag or needing to adjust visual settings. Though it becomes a little noisy when processing more graphically demanding games, it never gets too loud or hot. It's also great for any other tasks she needs to complete such as drawing or completing schoolwork. We haven't encountered any issues when connecting it to other hardware or running different applications. Overall, it was a great purchase.

Great battery life - about 2 hours while gaming and 8 hours web browsing/typing Good screen - able to see outdoors with no issue but also doesn't blind me at night Powerful - My code compiles slightly slower than on my i7 4790k desktop and this runs Destiny 2 at playable fps and high settings

I am very happy with the performance of this HP laptop. It's very fast, has good battery life and is thin and light. Excellent for graphics.

I have had my this laptop for about 6 months now and have had no real problems with it. Sometimes I wish it was a little faster now that I have a lot more running on it. But overall it has been a great computer. As a gaming laptop I can run Skyrim SE with around 100 mods and it doesn't seem to have any trouble with.

I love HP products, and the HP Omen is not only a great gaming laptop, but also a great laptop to use for photo editing and video editing. You can run multiple programs without it slowing down. The battery life last quite a while before having to plug it. It's not really heavy to carry around. I only had two issues with it. The touchpad is a bit too sensitive, even if you adjust it. I ended up getting a mouse for it. Also, the jack for headphones don't support all headphones. It's primary for a headset. Overall, if you're looking for something cheap, but an effective gaming laptop, I'd recommend this device.

I love this new laptop! The glowing keys and the battery life are spectacular. I also really love the graphics when I play Sims 4. It is also really good for my school work and it doesn't freeze unlike my other laptop that I had before I purchased this one.

I mainly use my laptop for playing the driving game "American Truck Simulator", my previous laptop was ok but there would be times when the game would skip or pause and even turn off by itself. I later found out that the processing speed and ram of my old laptop was ok but not fast enough to stop the pausing and skipping etc, but this new laptop is so fast the playing experience is so much better and I haven't had any problems with the game whatsoever and also when turning on the laptop it's so fast that you see the lock screen and the desktop in less than a minute etc.......I'm pleased with this purchased and would recommend it to anyone who games on the laptop.

I bought this for my seven year old son. I have to say that the staff at Best Buy have gotten incredibly more helpful over the past few years. I was ready to buy an iMac. I'm a Mac guy. I despise windows, but this machine was solely for my son to play games on. The associate talked me out of the Mac and sold me on the benefits of this far more powerful machine that would much better suit his needs now and in the future. After getting it home and the ridiculously long set up time, I was somewhat regretting not going with the Mac, but my son was able to get it going and nearly a month later it's still running bug free. I personally hate using it, but that's strictly due to it being a windows 10 machine and not being what I'm now used to. My son loves it and it does play games flawlessly without lag. For the price, I would recommend it even if you didn't want it for gaming. It's a very powerful machine. It specs out better than my MacBook pro which casts nearly double. I'm sure it's great at photo editing just like my Mac. I just prefer to dance with the devil I know.

This was a good performing laptop. Other laptops at this price come with a SSD, and a HDD, no aluminum or metal body on this laptop. A new generation is coming out soon for the Omen gaming laptops. It might be worth the wait. I loved the red theme the laptop had going on. NO USB C port on this laptop.

It does exactly what I need it to do with no problems whatsoever.

I love the thin and lightweight design. Very attractive, easy to type in the dark/low lighting. We use it for everything (work/school/social media).

The exhaust blows pretty hot when the Nvidia graphics are engaged, but this is an EXTREMELY capable gaming laptop.
