This audio breakout cable is designed to connect an audio device with a mini stereo phone output to pro audio gear with unbalanced phone inputs. It is ideal for connecting a laptop, or similar device, to a mixing console and splitting the stereo signal into left and right channels. The cable uses a 1/8 in (3.5 mm) TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) plug on one end and dual 1/4 in (6.35 mm) TS plugs on the other end, with nickel-plated connectors and a 10 ft (3 m) length to help reach studio monitors or console inputs. A TRS connector, also called an audio jack, phone jack, phone plug, jack plug, stereo plug, mini-jack, mini-stereo, or headphone jack, is a common analog audio connector that is cylindrical in shape and typically has three contacts, although sometimes with two (a TS connector). Compatible with smartphone / tablet / laptop / computer / CD players / MP3 players / Walkmans / mixing console / studio monitors / M-Audio Studiophile Series BX5a Speakers.
