Each foam filter helps trap hair, debris, and pet food to support cleaner, fresher water for cats and dogs, while helping maintain steady water flow and reducing pump clogging between cleanings. Filters can be rinsed thoroughly with fresh water during routine fountain cleaning (do not use soapy water, as residue can remain in the foam). Install by placing the foam around the pump with the rounded side directly in front of the pump faceplate, and run the power cord over the top of the foam (not underneath) to help keep it in place. Recommended replacement is every 4 to 6 weeks depending on fountain location and number of pets.
