I just purchased the insignia induction single burner Cooktop! Our Induction range we ordered was delayed for 3 weeks, so we needed something to cook with, until our range arrived. So I found this Insignia single burner cooktop on Best Buy.com. I must say, I love it. Looks Great, controls are well laid out, and easy to use! Clean up, is also a breeze! Only gripe I have, is burner should have been 12 inches, and there is constant fan noise while unit is on. Overall, very Happy with my purchase!

I paid an amazing price on Cyber Monday 2017. I wasn't sure what to expect, because the product was too new to be on display in-store. I did know that I would need different, magnetic metal cookware to use induction. The cooktop comes in a compact, sturdy cardboard box with a handle. The unit is fairly large (read the specifications), so be sure that you have enough free counter space. The unit looks quite modern compared to the electric stove with coil burners, provided in my apartment. Now I won't have to use those anymore! I find the touch controls responsive. I like being able to dial up either wattage or temperature. I am amazed at how quickly the unit causes food to cook. (Induction cooktops don't do the cooking; instead of generating heat, they generate a magnetic field that causes magnetic metal cookware to heat up.) Two shortcomings: - The fan, which looks suspiciously like an 80 mm fan from a personal computer, is a bit noisy. A better part, or a better design, would have allowed for whisper-quiet cooling. Also, there seems to be no filter, and no way to open the fan cover for cleaning. Grease circulates in the air of any active kitchen, and this will inevitably build up on the fan. - You have to consult a table in the manual when controlling by temperature, because the display shows a 2-digit level (1 to 10), rather than a 3-digit temperature (140 to 428 degrees Fahrenheit). 8-segment red LED displays cost a dollar at retail electronics stores when I was a boy, 35 years ago, and logic gate chips to control then, perhaps two dollars apiece. Today, extra display digits would cost pennies, and suitable display logic is probably built-in to the chip that controls the whole cooktop.

Bought 2 for my 2 sons on one day sale. Very nice with easy to clean surface. I bought a 30cm stainless steel pot but I think it was too big for it. It did take a long time to bring the content to a boil. Should try a smaller, maybe 28cm pot instead. Great for hot pot or just simple cooking. Should be great in an RV. Since it's inductive, the surface doesn't get hot once the pot/pan is removed so it's safer if there are kids around. It is not exactly new technology, but it did take a while to come down to such low price. Works great as long as you remember it only works with metallic pots or pans as I read some people complained that it doesn't work because they were using glass or ceramic cookware. By the way, it turns off itself if you remove the pot or pan. That's a plus! Another good thing about it is, since the surface doesn't get hot, you can quickly wipe it and put it away as soon as you're done using it. The only negative thing about it is the fan is kind of noisy, but I can live with it. Big selling points: Energy efficient, easy to clean after use.

Got this stove for $43 during BB's Black Friday deals and use it for cooking outside. Pretty good unit and heats up quickly and maintains the a constant temp throughout when cooking. You can even set a countdown timer on it. You will need an induction ready pot or pan on it. Get a magnet and if it sticks to the bottom of the pan you're good to go. Your pots and pans need to have a flat bottom also or is may start rattling on top on the cooktop. Cleanup is a breeze. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and you're done.

The cooktop gets hot quick, holds temperature well, used it at a hotel they did not a have a microwave to warm up the food .. not terribly noisy, the controls are easy to use and simple to. Got it on sale a big plus. You do have to buy a special pan to use it with a conductive bottom so it will work.

This is my first time using a portable burner, and my first time cooking using induction. This device was easy to use, and heats up fast. It's also small enough to store in a cabinet when not in use (make sure it cools off first!). I used a pan that's made for induction. This combination cooked a fried egg in less than 30 secs! This is leagues better than the old electric range I've been using, which takes a couple of minutes. It is a bit pricey (I got it on sale for 50% off), but it does exactly what it's supposed to do very well, as long as you use the proper cookware with it. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone.

I love this for camping and outdoor events as well as using next to the pool. The only problem is it can get louder but it heats well and is so easy to plug in and use. If I could give it a 4.5 I would but you can only leave full star reviews.

I purchased this product for my lake camp which doesn’t have an oven. I needed something so we could cook with and low and behold I found this at Best Buy. All I can say is if you have a similar situation as I did, you must purchase this product. You will not be disappointed. It could water very quickly, cooking is an ease and the product does cook off within 30 min of use. Highly recommended

Very powerful. Has no problems bringing a large pot of water to a boil very quickly. My wife is using it more everyday and using her stove less. It is easier to clean than her stove, if it gets splatter on it there are no controls to clean around. You are ready quicker, not that it's a huge difference but it is fast. I deducted one star because the fans are noisy, about what an exhaust hood produces. Overall very happy with the purchase, well built, works well, convenient and portable.

I've been wanting an induction cooktop for a while, but balked at the $90-ish prices. This Deal Of The Day cinched it. I played around with several pans that the magnet(included) would stick to. Some apparently had a higher iron/nickel content than others, and boiling times varied. Time will tell if it will slow-simmer dishes and cook rice, but this will normally be a spare "burner" and I can cook the sensitive recipes elsewhere. This will be used in our RV, on the deck as a side burner with the grill. and on the kitchen island. The grandkids are learning to cook and this might be a good place to start, with no flames or super hot elements. I'm thinking about pancakes, quesadillas, and my hand-made tortillas!

We use this Cooktop for our Lodge Cast Iron cookware. It heats up extremely fast and is very compact for storage. Very easy to clean also. Would buy again and we're considering taking it camping.

If you're thinking about remodeling your kitchen, but unsure about buying an Induction stove/cook top. buy this unit and it will convince you. Only real draw backs are that cookware has to be Induction rated and learning curve (cookware get really HOT, really fast). If the uninitiated say anything negative, show them this little trick. 1. take sheet of white paper and put on the heating element 2. put a pan of water on top of the sheet of paper 3. turn unit on to Maximum and let the water boil( time it, other wise they may not believe how quickly it boils ) 4. show them the paper, unburned and unscorched

Cooks fast.easy to clean. However, very noisy when on. Only for medium sized pots and pans.

This is the first induction cooktop I had tried, so I was a little skeptical when ordering this item. I have been thoroughly impressed by the capability of this cooktop, especially since it is compatible with a set of stainless steel cookware I already possessed. Using this cooktop, I have been able to bring water to a boil within a few minutes using only a medium setting (4 out of 10). Please note, you must use magnetic cookware for this cooktop to work properly. This can be determined by simply placing a magnet on the bottom surface of your cookware. If the magnet sticks to it, you're good to go!

Being a strong advocate of induction cooking (portability, speed, heat concentration), when I saw this burner on sale I had to have it. Not only am I a fan of the Insignia brand, but after reading the reviews, I knew this was a great choice even at twice the price. Its sleek, modern design, the 10 cook levels and 10 temperature settings were features my other induction burner does not have. Who says you should be limited to only one? This Insignia Induction Burner makes it easy to get the knack of Induction cooking,

I will admit to being a bit skeptical about whether we would like this, but since Best Buy has a great return policy, took the plunge. This things are great! Quick to heat and cook with. Relatively small footprint and easy to use. You need to have cookware that will cook on an Induction cooktop! Tonight found out our Wok works on it, and it was quick! I recommend this, as an extra cook surface for a busy kitchen, a seasonal home or a rental apt that has a small stove.

I got on 'Deal of the Day' pricing, worth it. If you a minimalist, tiny home person, traveler, or just straight up don't like the stove in your house, it's a good buy. Heats up water really fast, good size, and if you want to, easily put away and off the counter (I know how counter space is a hot commodity) There are other brands out there that are superior and monstrously worse, for the sale price, this one is good

As an induction hot plate, it does all that you'd expect. The 1 star off is for how non-sensitive the controls are. You really have to press hard on the on button to get the unit ready to use. This is odd since it's all touch controls and shouldn't respond any differently based on the pressure used. Once it's on, the controls are easy to use and fairly intuitive. Just remember that this will only work with magnetic cookware.

Portable, easy to use (read the instructions, but nothing I wouldn't have done right just taking out of the box), can store in product packaging for easy transport and price was great on deal of the day. As others said any pot magnet sticks to works. We had plenty we already owned. Wish we had bought this years ago as son loves mac and cheese when we travel for sports.

Product was great except when it died on me, I liked how fast it heats and is portable the only issue I have is I wish it would give a 60 second timer to turn off the heat setting cus sometimes we all remove the pan to add an ingredient only to find out that the machine turned itself off
