Base is pretty great. Unfortunately it is not as loud as I thought. Love the strap and how adjustable it is but could be louder. Also, I have that others can interfere and intervene ans take over woth their phones. Im in the middle of playing a song and my son always takes over. Its so annoying. Haha

speaker is good but IT WILL NOT CONNECT TO ANY GENERATION BEFORE IT. got this as a party speaker to connect with the others i own, the party boost feature only works with the newest generation of speakers. that being said if you are getting this as a standalone it's not bad, but the price jump from the previous generation is kind of hard to justify, I've been buying JBL speakers since 2015, and they've put some good stuff out, but not allowing previous generations to connect to the speaker is kind of a cheap move, because i know they could easily make it compatible with the old versions being the charge 4 and extreme 2.

I play outdoor sand volleyball in the summer and my charge5 felt a little quiet and during tournenents, didnt last as long. Bought Xtreme3 hoping the larger size and double speaker/tweeters would mean more sound. Sound quality is great and has more bass than the charge5, but was not noticeably louder. Even to the point where i think it may have been quieter than the charge5 just more bass. For its price i could get another charge 5 and dual connect through the app for more sound and long ler battery life.

The speaker is sturdy with good sound, but I have the smaller version and its louder.

It has good sound and handy carry strap. Graphic equalizer is adequate. Codec support is adequate. Battery life is good. The unit routinely stops at the end of songs for no apparent reason.

Not what I was looking for. I work in a very loud environment and I couldn’t hear anything unless I was standing 3-5 ft away. Strong durability though, kept it out in the snow for a few hours and it was still kicking.

It's a JBL, so you're getting decent quality, but considering the price and the competition, there are better options out there! Not to mention the app lacking EQ options. Honestly, the app is worthless IMO. I purchased this and the Sony XG300 and we kept the XG300. Side by side, the JBL sounded better out of the box, but after adjusting the low, medium and high sliders in the Sony app, I had them sounding identical. Difference is, the Sony's bass increased relative to the total volume as opposed to topping out at 70% like the JBL. And all this at a lower price. JBL, do better!

The speaker is pretty good decent battery life but not worth 379 plus tax. If you could get it for 250 or less go for it

I purchased the Charge 5 and the Xtreme 3 speakers a week apart. I purchased the C5 first and was really impressed with the speaker. I decided to try the Xtreme 3 out to see if it would be more impressive than the C5. However, I was slightly disappointed that the sound quality is not that big of a difference. This is a very nice speaker but IMO it is not worth the money to upgrade from the Charge 5.

Good speaker and sound quality is great. I do think it could be louder for as much as they cost.

For the size, you would think it would pump out a much louder sound than the 2, but it's just about the same. I use this for my work van since there is no radio. Due to it being round-edged, whenever I brake or accelerate, it tends to roll. I've already ruined one charger because of that. Aside from that, it's a good speaker.

extreme volume not extreme sound. played every type of music there was not enough low-end bass to bring out the excitement. Mybe that is why there was so many open boxes at BestBuy.

Purchase of speaker was fine but it would not pair with my JBL Boombox 3 in stereo as I was lead to believe.

Satisfactory, I assumed it would have a more power than it actually does, especially since its very expensive.

Sounded identical to my charge five. Definitely not worth double the price.

JBL charge is better sound just less volume and more affordable.

Not as loud as I expected for the price, but overall good sound quality, sounds the best when it's on your person

The sound is good, if a bit boomy. The downgrade is for the blue tooth, which drops out too frequently when you're trying to watch streaming content.
