This was a series that got canelled way to see. Justice League Action was both a funny series but it felt like you were still watching the real DC heroes you loved. I've got the first half of it and I'm glad to have the second half. I say you need to get this series it's great.

High above the Earth in the great Watchtower of the Justice League, there are assembled the world's seven greatest heroes created from the cosmic legends of the universe - Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern, the Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl. Their mission: To fight injustice, to right that which is wrong, and to serve all mankind. It was planetary pandemonium for animation fans when the creators of "Batman: The Animated Series" unveiled the monster hit series "Justice League" back in 2001. Taking the premise of Hanna-Barbera's classic "Superfriends" [of uniting heroes to fight evil on a global scale as originally done in the comic books] and giving it a 21st century upgrade, the show's producers boldly took the time to flesh out the members of the League, adding a depth to what motivates them as heroes. This was never done with the Justice League of the 60s, 70s & 80s. Justice League featured Emmy-worthy production values in animated storytelling and brilliant thought and care in voice casting. Not to mention a magnificent main title theme by Lolita Ritmanis. Given the show's mature tone, fans were dumbfounded that DVDs of Justice League were only released as single disc "DC Comics Kids Collection" volumes with no more than 3-4 eps instead of season sets. (Note: If you own all of the original JL volumes then you already have Justice League - Season One episodes 1-15, and should consider the remaining 11 episodes plus the exclusive EXTRAS on this set before deciding.)

...as I have said in previous reviews regarding the animated "Justice League" movies, I really wish Warner Bros. / DC Comics would have put all of these kid-friendly Justice League movies in with the animated series set. As you watch the series, different episodes touch on the events in these separate "movies", and without the backstory, the narrative and dramatic impact can get lost. Still, these standalone movies are great!

Fun, short cartoons with great depictions of the DC characters. Focuses on the major ones, but also spotlights lesser heroes with a more humorous side. With Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, the ties to the old series are great. Lots of fun and action for the kids, and good for the grownups who haven't grown up yet.

This was a series that provided quality storylines and well developed characters. It is far superior to most of the current cartoon series. This was not a series whose sole purpose was to sell me a line of toys as a child. The DVDs look and sound great. I am looking forward to watching the series with my sons.

I've been introducing my 3 year old son to Batman and he's become a big fan. Was glad I was able to find this show, since it's so difficult to find anywhere else. Very fun show for kids and adults alike.

These cartoons are the ones I grew up on when I was a boy. Not too violent and always some loose positive theme was involved like teamwork or integrity or kindness. Now I can enjoy these same cartoons with my young son.

This is a fun DC cartoon series, the characters are light hearted and do silly things. If your looking for a little more serious DC cartoon, this is not it, but it is still really enjoyable.

I have been a fan of this series from the beginning and I'm glad I now have it on blu-ray. Only issue is it's over priced in my opinion (I got it with a gift card).

Good follow up to the classic animated series with some essential voice actors (Kevin Conroy as Batman) returning. Second part to season 1 is lots of fun and great for kids.

These were the cartoons I enjoyed as a boy. They were not too violent and attempted to incorporate some type of positive theme or message. Now I can enjoy this with my young son.
