Keychron V5 Ultra 8K is a compact 96% wireless custom mechanical keyboard with a fully assembled knob, hot-swappable Keychron Silk POM Brown tactile switches, double-shot PBT keycaps, south-facing RGB, ZMK and built-in AI Launcher customization, and up to 660 hours of wireless working time with the backlight off .
The space-saving 96% layout retains a number pad, function row, arrow keys, and navigation controls while reducing the gaps found on a conventional full-size keyboard. It delivers nearly complete key access in a smaller footprint, and the fully assembled knob adds convenient control for volume, scrolling, zoom, or other assigned functions.
An 8000 Hz polling rate is available in both USB-C wired and low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless modes, reporting keyboard input up to 8 times faster than a standard 1000 Hz connection. This high-speed link reduces the interval between a keypress and the computer receiving it, supporting responsive competitive play while retaining the flexibility of fast wireless operation.
Even while charging, you can enjoy an uninterrupted user experience, with an outstanding battery life of up to 660 hours of wireless working time with the backlight turned off, or up to 200 hours with RGB set to its lowest brightness. This ensures you can rely on your device for extended periods without the need for frequent recharging.
Pre-lubed Keychron Silk POM Brown tactile switches provide a smooth, consistent keystroke and are mounted in hot-swappable sockets. You can hot-swap them with most compatible 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style mechanical switches without soldering, making it easy to explore a different sound, feel or force, service an individual switch, or personalize the board without buying a new keyboard.
Programmable ZMK and the built-in AI Launcher web app let you remap keys, create macros, assign shortcuts, program the rotary knob, and adjust RGB lighting in your own language. The open-source ZMK foundation supports advanced layouts and workflows, while the Launcher makes configuration easy without requiring you to download any software.
