Hello, day 2 and this PC is doing fine. Had to modify a lot of the Windows 10 visuals to speed up processes. Still has a delay but not too much of a delay. Two seconds for things to load. I recommend you visit this website: https://en.softonic.com/articles/how-to-make-windows-10-run-faster-in-9-easy-steps And forget Microsoft Word, I absolutely advise you to use Open Office. It's free, and will have less of an impact on your PCs performance while browsing, or researching with the two applications open. This is in WIndows S Mode: "Windows 10 in S mode is a version of Windows 10 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing. For more info, see the Windows 10 in S mode page." Thankfully being an advocate for other applications I was able to log into my prior Microsoft account thus getting me out of it. Get a good AntiVirus either Microsoft Security Essentials (Preinstalled,) or Avast AntiVirus the free version. This will be for my College curriculum. However I expect certain limitations given the low end specs. No heavy tab usage upon browsing. It runs Pandora, and browsing pretty good thus far. My only concern is the hardware e.g. mouse pad, screen malfunctioning like many have said with Lenovo products. But we will see. I bought this thinking it was a steal as it was an early black friday special. Did not read into the reviews. But Being on a budget you do get what you pay for.

Well initial setup to get it ready for practical use took about 9 hours. ......but this computer is very fast cant get much more bang for your buck here I opted for only 4g of ram yes this can play any game out there not on highest detail on all games because only 512 video card but gamer friendly and this is great for video editing too just grab you a cheap wireless mouse your ready to play windows 10 s mode is terrible I suggest turning that off immediately also it has option built in to go back to windows 7 i opted for a newer version of 10 also the video card is integrated so if you want to turn this into top end gaming rig you will have to use external video card and upgrade the ram to 8g but with the usb 3 ports easy upgrade for video card I would compare the speed of this machine to I5 pentium and I really love the glare protection high definition screen you cant beat this price for this great performance

Unfortunately my ipad recently died and I needed something light, easy and convenient to use that gets the job done. This IdeaPad does all this. I'm impressed with the screen as well as the keyboard. They're fantastic attributes that add to making doing my homework that much more interesting.

The A6 APU isn't going to wow you but you can still get things done with it without frustration. For generic office/internet use this will work fine. Even some light retro or 2D games it should handle fine but that's about it. Basic photo editing is fine but apps like photoshop you're gonna need more horsepower. Keyboard feels good, Large keys and fairly quiet. I feel I could type on it for a while fairly comfortably. Screen is functional but certainly of the bargain bin TN variety. Poor viewing angles and washed out colors. For my usage this was expected in sub $200 category and not a deal breaker APU is soldered to the board but almost everything is these days. While this has a 500GB WD Blue HDD there is also a slot available for an NVME PCI-E M.2 2280 drive (M.2 SATA not supported). Before I even turned it on I took off the bottom panel, pulled the HDD and cloned it over to M.2. After that the original HDD can be used as extra storage. Motherboard only has 1 RAM slot but at least it is upgradable. Surprisingly the included 4GB RAM stick is 2666 but the the motherboard will only run it at 2133. Was probably cheaper for Lenovo to buy the faster memory in bulk but basically this means you can use whatever is cheaper when you upgrade. If you have a lot of tabs open in a browser it will eat up a lot of RAM so definitely worth the upgrade there. 8GB should be fine but if you want to shill out for 16GB, go for it. Lastly, the screen hinge. WAY TOO STIFF. With the bottom panel off the hinges can be adjusted w/ a 5.5mm nut. Loosen ~1/4 turn and never break the hinge again. I do this to every laptop I ever work on. Also seeing the hinge bracket overlapping the motherboard lately on many models so a must mod for any laptop. In short, for sub $200 you are getting a good value but plan on some upgrades.

I purchased a Lenovo desktop in late 2018 and was impressed by the ease & speed of Lenovo overall right then and there - when my mom retired in late 2019 she needed to purchase PC equipment for home as she had done all of her personal computer stuff at the office; I helped research and with her preferences on certain items (i.e. type of PC, screen size, ease of use, skill knowledge of internet navigation, keyboard type), we decided together that this would be ideal for her. This laptop was great not only because of the price point but because of all the features provided by Lenovo and most importantly, this is easy for my mom to navigate through for her everyday use with minimal supervision.

Bought this because my wife wanted a laptop to type papers on and upon opening it out the box she said it took way too long to load and get everything set up. Had it for about a week and she kept bugging me that it was too slow and she was waiting about 5 minutes for it to even load up. Style wise it was awesome, light weight and had the full numerical keyboard. Did Not like the touch pad so she used an external mouse. Not the greatest for everyday work use but maybe for kids to watch movies or do homework. We took this one back and I just got her an iMac

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 will boot from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are experiencing longer boot times, such as 5-minutes, there is incompatible software installed on the computer. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

We needed a decent computer for kids and our own basic needs....this was just what we needed, plenty of storage for pics, and homework projects. Then the price was within budget too. We didnt need a bunch of bells n whistles, so this is great for us.

Nice computer. Not as fast as my work machine but a great value. It has been a solid machine. Perfect for home use but probably need something more powerful for a work application.

THIS LAPTOP RIGHT HERE WOULD SAVE YOU TONS OF MONEY WHY? FOR ITS PRICE YOU WOULD GET AN A6 PROCESSOR WITH AMD RADEON GRAPHICS CARD AND HAS A 500GB MEMORY. OMG! WHERE YOU WOULD FINE THAT PRICE ONLY HERE IN BESTBUY, SO DONT WAIT ANYMORE AS THIS ONE RIGHT HERE IS GOOD FOR EVERYDAY TASK SUCH AS BROWSING, STREAMING ONLINE VIDEOS, SCHOOL WORKS AND MUCH MORE. PROS : NICE QUALITY OF THE SCREEN ENOUGH AMOUNT OF MEMORY PRICE IS WAY TOO GOOD CONS: TOO GOOD FOR THE PRICE.

I wasn't sure I was going to keep this laptop, only because it was slower than I expected for a new computer. However, after I gave up S mode and downloaded Google Chrome, it got better. Microsoft Edge was SO SLOW. Also, after reading other reviews I realize I can upgrade to get it going even faster. I use Microsoft Excel and Word for work so I needed a PC. (I tried the apps on my Chromebook but it's not the same.) Anyway, I got this on sale and paid less than $200 so I think it's a keeper.

If you want a solid laptop at a bargain price for basic productivity tasks and web browsing- and don’t mind the restrictions of Windows 10 S mode this laptop can’t be beat. I would recommend it without reservation to people who don’t expect a Rolls Royce for a Kia price.

I've had this computer for close to a month. It's an ok laptop for basic use, though I have found that it starts to struggle with multitasking, especially when opening multiple tabs in Chrome. The laptop came with a 500GB hdd and 4GB of RAM. I transferred the 120GB SSD and 8GB SODIMM from my broken laptop to the Lenovo laptop and the performance improvement was noticeable. I also switched from Windows S to standard Windows 10, which was very, very easy. I would recommend this machine, but only if you need the very basics and don't demand too much from its default configuration.
