Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Washer (WT8400CW) model. We understand how important it is for the lid to open and close smoothly during everyday use. One helpful step you can try is to check the hinge area and the lid dampers to ensure nothing is obstructing the motion. Wiping the hinge points and making sure the washer is leveled properly can also help the lid align and close more easily. Tried to love it - gets off balance a lot when spinning. Like most review state, water does not cover clothes when washing. Washer does not have a soak feature as I was informed by sales rep when purchasing. Detergent dispenser always filled with water even though appliance is level.
Posted
Hi, John. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG washer model WT8400CW. For the balance issue during spinning, ensure the washer is level and that the load is evenly distributed. Regarding the water coverage, try adjusting the load size settings to match the amount of laundry. The detergent dispenser can remain filled with water if the washer is overfilled or if there’s a clog. If these suggestions don't resolve the issues, please send us a private message on our social media platform via @LGUSSupport. Our team will provide further troubleshooting and support to enhance your washing experience. We appreciate your patience and are here to assist. ^Sam <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/LG.png" alt="LG" title="LG" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Hi, there. Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
We understand how important it is for your LG Washer (WT8400CB) model to stay fresh and odor-free. A persistent smell can often be caused by detergent buildup, trapped moisture, or residue in hidden areas. To help resolve this, we recommend running the Tub Clean cycle using an LG-approved washing machine cleaner or white vinegar. Be sure to leave the lid open between washes to allow the interior to dry completely. You can also check out here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-top-load-washer-cleaning-and-maintenance-guide--20152385368911 for more tips on keeping your unit fresh.

Product is great. Best Buy service is terrible. Still waiting on a return call from GM or corporate. Not sure how you guys run things but to not reach back out to upset patrons isn’t the way

Hi, Keith. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand the importance of having your LG Washer (WT8400CW) model supported properly after purchase, and we’re glad to hear the product itself is working well for you.
To keep your washer performing at its best, one helpful step is to run the Tub Clean cycle regularly. This can be done by selecting Tub Clean on the control panel and running it with no laundry inside—using liquid bleach or a washing machine cleaner if desired. This helps maintain optimal performance and prevents buildup. For more guidance, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-top-load-washer-cleaning-and-maintenance-guide--20152385368911. Wash cycles default to hit and high spin and won't let change. Deep fill and single item loads make my breaker trip. The slanted lid is annoying because you can't sit anything on it to dry without it sliding off.

Hi, Allison. Thanks for sharing your experience with the LG Washer (WT8400CW) model. We understand how important it is for your appliance to offer flexibility and convenience in everyday use.
If the wash cycles default to Hot water and High spin and won’t allow changes, one step you can try is resetting the control panel by unplugging the unit for 60 seconds and plugging it back in. This can help clear any temporary glitches. For Deep Fill and single-item loads, we recommend balancing the load with at least one or two additional items to prevent unbalanced spinning, which may cause power surges and trip the breaker. I’m not a fan of top loaders without agitator I feel like this washer doesn’t wash my clothes too well unless I do a second wash

Hi, Jessica. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the LG Washer (WT8400CW) model. We understand how important it is for your washer to deliver a thorough clean the first time.
For improved performance, we recommend using the Deep Wash cycle or selecting the Water Plus option to increase water levels, which can help enhance cleaning results in top-load washers without an agitator. Also, make sure loads are evenly distributed and not overloaded, as this allows the impeller design to move clothes more effectively. This model does not have presoak capability. You need to buy a model with a soak button. Product support frustrating. First call eventually directed me to a YouTube video that didn’t help. No option to download this function. Tried to send email and since this model wasn’t listed I had to call again. Finally got the truth that I wouldn’t have this functionality.

My clothes don’t seem to get clean unless I put it on the Deep Clean or Heavy Duty, even for minor stains/everyday wear.

Hi, Jazz. Thank you for reaching out about your LG Washer (WT8400CW) model. We understand how important it is for your laundry cycles to deliver consistently clean results, and we appreciate you sharing your experience.
For everyday wear and minor stains, the Normal cycle should typically be sufficient. If you're finding that only Deep Clean or Heavy Duty cycles are effective, here are a few steps you can try: Too much or too little can affect cleaning performance. High-efficiency (HE) detergent is recommended. Overloading the drum can prevent clothes from agitating properly, reducing cleaning effectiveness. It doesn’t work for white linens and bulky (like bedding). It takes a lot of water but doesn’t really wash well to remove stains.

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your feedback about your LG Washer (WT8400CW) model. We understand your concern, especially when it comes to washing white linens and bulky items like bedding. Our goal is to provide you with reliable, high-quality products that really meet your needs and expectations.
For those larger loads, we suggest using the Bulky/Large Load cycle. It’s designed just for that, helping with proper water distribution. I am highly disappointed in this washer and dryer set. And for the amount of money.. ugh. I after washing a load FOUR times can STILL see the dirt in the laundry items. It’s ridiculous. I put those little laundry pebbles in the load.. they’re still sitting on top not dissolved at all once the load is done. Fabric softener.. still on top of that load.. and that’s with me doing the DEEP FILL three times! The amount of water I am using to wash a load of laundry three times is unacceptable. More than likely will end up returning.
