Don’t get me wrong the washer is great, but let me say this. I had a screw come loose some where i heard it fall inside the back of the washer. There is a crack where the door and washer meet at the top and now the door is extremely loose and it slams shut now instead of closing gently. I am the only person using this washing machine. I have reached out to best buy, they connected with lg because i am still in warranty with them. Lg has given me the run around i have called twice, no follow up or nothing. I am very upset, i paid too much money and i haven’t had it a whole year yet.

We purchased the LG8400C washer based on it's top load feature and capacity. The interior is huge - literally you could put a small person in it. It's functioning better than our prior front load LG as the clothes come out feeling clean and not feeling like they are still coated with detergent. The cycles are pretty obvious and it operates fairly easily with selection. BUT, it really lacks flexibility in cycle selection. For instance, if you want to run the "Normal" cycle and then add an extra rinse the unit automatically shifts into "Deep Fill" mode. I don't want Deep Fill I just want an extra rinse. Anyone whose had organic chemistry knows that more extractions are better than doing a higher volume of fewer extractions - duh!! Apparently the engineers who designed this unit never had that class. Anyway you CAN select variations in water temp, soil level, and spin speed. The lights on the display that show what cycle features you've selected are a bit dim and if your unit is placed near a window, it can be hard to read these. The black top of the unit shows every spec of dust, lint, and fingerprints so if you are OCD about it looking sleek, this is not the unit for you. If I had the flexibility to do this purchase over again, I would reconsider getting a unit that has better cycle flexibility. We had no way of knowing when we stood looking at this one on the show room floor that we would not be able to just add an extra rinse without it kicking into Deep Fill mode. So yes, I'm a little frustrated with the lack of flexibility. Still the clothes come out clean and it operates pretty quietly in my opinion despite spinning at very high speed so the clothes dry quickly afterwards.

This was a big deal for us, going from a no frills washer that was at least 10 years old. Thought this one would be quieter than our old one, which sounded like it was going to lift off on the spin cycle. Nope, this one is still loud. Worse than that though, is that for some reason LG seems to think people want to wash their normal loads on HOT. Who does that?? So I have to hope that my kids and husband will set the load to Normal then take the extra step of setting the temp to cold. Our bills are high enough alread, and I don't think our clothes are going to appreciate constant HOT wash cycles. Oh, and the tray that is for filling liquid detergent and softner constantly has puddles. We bought the top load so that we could keep it open when not in use to prevent mildew and now we seem to have bought a washer that has added an extra feature to encourage mildew! No, I would not recommend this washer. I wish I'd picked something else.

No soak feature on this machine. LG falsely has claims on the website that you can download more cycles that include a pre-wash but this is false. If you pause the cycle midway it auto drains so there is not work around. You could manually fill the machine before it’s turned on and add water to soak but who wants to do that. Seems like a really simple fix, but LG keeps misrepresenting that you can pre-soak but you can’t as of today.

We bought this and really hoped for more. It does its job but only if you mess with the settings. The energy efficient mode that is the default doesn’t really clean. You have to manually override the settings each time which is a pain.

Very pleased with the machine so far. Wanted a larger tub and we got that so there is a positive. As for negative, there are a couple potential issues: 1) There is No Delicate setting, 2) I don't see a way to "soak" your clothes. Wishing it had more ways to select your wash types.

Works good and very quiet. The only thing that I found is the load capacity is smaller than my last washer.

It washes really well and quickly. Huge drum. The out-of-the-box wash settings are OK (slightly limiting) but I think you can customize them. Overall it’s good. But will it stand the test of time? TBD.

The washer leaves my clothes very wrinkled. I changed the settings for the spin cycle but then the clothes are too wet to put in the dryer.

We just had this machine installed recently. It’s nice looking, clothes come out really clean…really like the options on the app… but it makes a really bad clunking sound during the cycle. Will need to schedule someone to come look at it.

I feel like this machine washes fairly well. It has a learning curve as all such new things do, but it does the job fairly well. I do think that the soap does not fully come out sometimes so an extra rinse is occasionaly required. My biggest complaint is that there is no setting that lets me customize to my hearts content. The presets all have options that are locked and I think this is often why the laundry doesn't come out as desired. I've never had presets like this before and it's frustrating.

Nice washer easy to use, happy with the way it looks and how easy it is to use. But notice it does wash as good has my previous washer

This washer machine is just like any other, gets the job done. You have to download the app to get certain settings, like delicate, but still missing some washer settings (like towels) that you think a new washer would have.

I returned this model and exchanged for different LG model. The AI cycle is rough on clothes. The turbo wash in general is rough on clothes. You can’t manipulate a lot of the cycles so you are stuck with turbo was on the most used cycles.

Lid is very reflective (glares) and shows fingerprints a lot. We like the plastic lid parts, so they won't rust like all our previous washers.

Love the Dryer, but I was lied to by Best Buy employee. I was told to go ahead and buy this before Memorial day and that they would Price match any sales, only to find out that this was false. I will not use Best Buy again.

It washes well, but gets off balance and will repeat the wash cycle over and over. I didn't realize it until after the 4th round of it rewashing. Glad I got the warranty. It does have "AI" and can download an App to monitor wash cycles.

Sometimes you have to turn the machine off and back on to get it to work!
