Great Door Lock!
I bought this for added security in my home and to help me know whomwas coming in and out (and when). This had been an excellent source of peace and comfort to my increasing need for personal security. I HIGHLY recommend getting this and the extension option!

Touchscreen Cannot Handle Sun
I purchased this lock 2 years ago. At first it was great, but after 1 year, the numbers were illegible in the late afternoon. I am assuming that this lock cannot handle direct sun. The front of my house gets the afternoon sun. Now, the numbers are always illegible. I can still use the fingerprint sensor, but no one can enter a code. Resetting after changing the batteries is a chore. Ive changed the batterries twice and had to spend alot of time trying to get ut back online. If you think you're going to quickly change the batteries before you leave the house. Plan it so you have plenty of time to troubleshoot. It will take longer than you think.

Beautiful Item. Sad to have to return it.
Beautiful Item, design and manufacturing touches are incredible. Instructions and 3-D installation specs (via the Bilt app) were quite clear and straightforward. I'd say that there is minimal DIY experience required to get it installed. ** For the BAD - had to return the item as it wouldn't work on our old door/frame/casing. Our door requires a slight "pull-to-snug" before turning the key to lock the deadbolt and because the frame is so old and battered, no amount of strike plate adjustments or weather-stripping modification could remove that "pull-to-snug". Therefore, this deadbolt cannot completely lock on it's own and would throw an error each time. We are extremely sad about that.
