If one is spending a considerable amount on the GH4 camera body, don't cheap out on the lens. It is equally if not more important! I burnt through four lenses two of which was very good counterfeits, before settling on this one. The image from this lens is far superior than others up to this price. Although the Panasonic branded 15-150 produced a sharp image, the lack of image stabilization made it a bad suite for me. In contrast, this 12-35mm model has been great in hand. The lower F2.8 works better in low-light but not exceptional. The real win here is the water-resistant and dust-proof feature. This lens is now my one lens fits all.

I own a pretty full collection of micro 4/3 lenses - the 45-175, the 14mm f/2.5, the 14-42 X collapsing power zoom, even the renowned 20 f/1.7. However, the 12-35 is on my GX1 pretty much full time because it's sharp, fast, and flexible. Like the highly regarded 24-70 f/2.8 lenses for the Canon and Nikon systems, this lens goes wide enough and long enough for a huge variety of situations, it has premium build quality (metal body and lens mount), fast focusing, image stabilization, and excellent image quality.

If you have a gh4, this is pretty much a must have. Image stabilization works fairly well. Optics are very sharp. My only complaint is that I wish it were internal zoom.

I use this paired with my Panasonic G7 and shoot both photos and 4k videos at my kids events. I have to say I have been very impressed. While it doesn't quite have the same sharpness or feel as a full frame A7S ii paired with a Sony Zeiss 24-70mm, it is pretty darn close in image quality in an indoor setting (low light). Highly recommended -- I use this and 45-175 power zoom lens on the G7 and it is a great value package.

I wanted a smaller camera and lens from my Nikon, so I recently purchased a Panasonic MFT camera. The 12-35mm lens was highly-rated, and I am pleased with the images camera and lens provide. I didn't expect the image quality to be the same as the Nikon with a 24-70 lens, but I'm happy with the results. You could find a cheaper lens, but you won't get the sharpness you have with the 12-35.

Excellent Wide-Medium 12-35mm (roughly 24-70mm equiv), fast f2.8, stabilized, zoom lens. 1 of 2 fast zoom lenses every micro four thirds owner should have in their kit. Paired with the Panasonic 35-100mm (roughly 70-200mm equiv) stabilized lens you have a solid coverage. Built quality is good for Micro 4/3 lens.

I'm not getting into all of the technical aspects of this lens. There are many technical gurus out there who have already done a tremendous job outlining the pros and cons of the PANASONIC LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35MM f/2.8 lens. This lens is hard to beat. Period. I have both Olympus and Panasonic micro 4/3s cameras (Olympus OM-D EM-5 MKII & PEN PL7, and the Panasonic GX8) and lenses (Panasonic 25mm f/1.7, Panasonic 35-100mm LUMIX G VARIO f/2.8, Olympus 25mm f/1.8, 45mm f/1.8, 9-18mm, 12-50mm, 14-150mm and lots more...) and this lens is without a doubt my 'go to' favorite of what I own. I can't say enough good things about it. I do video production for a living primarily and photography on occasion. I have commercials playing across the nation that were shot on this lens. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about making their videos and photographs the best that they can be on the Panasonic and Olympus mirrorless systems. Awesome lens.

This is the best lens. Wouldn't have bought anything different!

Using this with my new GH5 and so far I don't have any major complaints but it is a little stiff on the far end when changing zoom (maybe it will break in over time). It doesn't seem to give me quite what I'm looking for in lower light situations so might be shopping around for a second lens. For now I'm keeping it until I find something better as it isn't terrible either.

If you own a Panasonic 4/3 camera then this lens is a must. fast & sharp and far superiour to the kit lens supplied with the GX85.

The Lumix f2.8 lenses are all excellent, including this one. The advantage all 4/3 equipment has is in travel, especially in European security lines. For utmost image quality, get the primes or the 2.8 zooms. This 12-35 is great when also using the 35-100.

Awesome lens. Love it. Bought it for my GH4. Small and light

This lens is great to use, easy to handle. Very responsive on the auto focus, and great sharpness. It's the best to use when out doors in the day. All you need is a polarizer or a ND filter to go with it.

Bought the GX85 which came with a similar "kit" lens and it was fine but this lens just went on sale (like $300 off) so snatched one up and and glad I did. Extremely sharp and fast, super in low light. Well built. Yes it's 4 times the size of the "kit" lens but still given it's f stop it's relatively compact.

Sharp, fast and quiet. Bought a used one at a decent price so I'm even more excited. Yes they are pro lens at a pro price but you definitely get what you paid for.

Although a bit steep, if found for a discount it is well worth the price. Photos and videos are nicely rendered and noticeably better than kit lenses.

This is probably panasonics most versatile lens. This 24-70 equivalent has an amazing f2.8 aperature that gets you the light you need!

This lens works great with the GH4 camera, its very sharp! don't let the size fool you, it looks small but performs great!

Amazing build and quality. For the size and price definitely a must have with any micro 4/3 camera
