Last year I got a nice new 85" TV so when given the opportunity to pair it with a Marshall sound bar, I jumped at the chance to test it. The sound-bar is roughly 4' long and if you're smart you'll get someone to help you pick it up as it's a little awkward (not overly heavy though). I've used Marshall products before and was extremely impressed with the sound quality for the size- this soundbar is no exception. Included in the box is an HDMI cable, power cable, quick-start document and full-blown manual. You'll need a cell phone with bluetooth capability to download the Marshall app which will pair with the soundbar and then download firmware updates. Once that is done it's time to test! Now, there is one thing that annoys me about this soundbar - my TV kicks in the screensaver after so many minutes of idle time . When this happens, I have to turn the TV off and back on again to get the soundbar to initialize again otherwise it's quiet time! There is one work-around, but it's a little counter-productive IMHO - leave the speakers built into the TV turned on, but to get the soundbar working again you'll still need to turn the TV off and back on (at least with the unit I have here). We opted to set it on a mount that is above the TV as the sound "rolls" off the ceiling and gives it more of a surround sound and room-filling audio. Overall extremely impressed with the soundbar - it's awesome for TV, movies, "casting" music via streaming services, and exceeds my expectations for this brand!

This is a massive soundbar. It’s heavy and big but that comes with some great sound and presets built into it. When I got the box, I couldn’t believe the size of it. It’s much larger than I thought it would be but after connecting it, I see why. I believe it has a total of eight speakers including subwoofers. Setup was pretty straightforward and after downloading the app, I was up and running in about 15-20 minutes after creating my account. Everything is controlled through the app. Some may like that, but I really prefer a remote control and I think something this high end should include one. That is one of the reasons I deducted one star. The other reason is that it doesn’t seem to play well with my Apple TV. I stream all of my channels with that and once it’s connected, I can’t control the volume with my Siri Remote. It’s actually rather annoying. I either have to use the TV remote or open the app. For me, I don’t want to go into the app to control volume. Ideally I would prefer to use it just to customize the audio settings and nothing else. That aside, the sound is massive and room filling I have a separate subwoofer that I may use with this setup but so far the audio has been amazing and I haven’t felt the need for the deeper bass. This does have several connection options. Bluetooth, HDMI, WiFi and RCA if you like analog over digital. There is also no power off button which I think is odd. The directions say the device goes into standby mode after 20 minutes of inactivity. I would rather have a power button, but that is not a feature of this sound bar. While I think it’s an awesome speaker, it does have room for improvement. Some of my dislikes may not be an issue for others so I wouldn’t say not to get this. I think it’s a great option, especially those who don’t want to setup a 7.2 system or run wires all over the place. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS-C so the sound is immersive. I would definitely recommend this.

I love the design of the Marshall Heston 120 soundbar is definitely timeless, excellent sound. It would be a lot better if it gets paired up with a bass and a pair of background speakers.
