While the games themselves are great what Konami did with this compilation release isn't. While Capcom is guilty of doing something similar(Mega Man,Resident Evil Revelations) at least They put some of the game product on the cartridge unlike Konami which only put the NES console ports on the cartridge and nothing else really. It makes it pretty redundant to sale a physical compilation when you still have to install about 90% of the collection. Truly the only reason I got this collection is for two reasons one it was on sale for $20 and the ability to play these games on the go. If I had to pay $60 or even $40 for this collection it would be a quick no as unfortunately Konami really messed up with this collection which is a tragedy unto itself.

Heads up that if you buy the physical release, it is missing the core MG games and require a digital download of them. All the games are separate on your nintendo switch homescreen and do not have a contained launcher. The games are not graphically updated for next gen consoles, it’s a bare bones port. If you don’t mind that, the best upside is that you’re able to play these titles on the go. It’s getting a low rating because the cartridge does not include every game advertised and low framerate performance on nintendo hardware. I’ve included below the details of what you get. The only games on the cart are: - Metal Gear (MSX) - Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - Metal Gear (NES) - Snake's Revenge

A fantastic and convenient way to play MGS classics, but the cartridge doesn’t have the games on the cart itself; it’s basically digital download but you need the cart in the switch.

Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 run worse on Switch than they did on the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360, the Switch is more than capable to run these games better. That said they are still playable for those that don't care as much about performance. Playing MGS1 on Switch was worth it for me at the sale price though. That said this collection shouldve been so much better.

Ive read quite a bit about this over the months and somewhere either it was disclosed or i missed it. The Cart has has non the the games other than the old sprite ones and bonus content. Everything else is online and a whopping 32 GB! Batman Arkham Trilogy coming up has at least the full entire first game on the cart. If we are to retain physical games we need to stop buying virtual games which will vanish once they decide to shutdown their servers. I'm returning this shell of a game.
