It’s not. It’s only compatible with systems with”New” in their name: New 3DS XL, New 3DS and New 2DS XL. These systems have a better processor than earlier systems that allow them to play this game, Xenoblade Chronicles, the SNES virtual console games and there was another e-shop game I can’t remember.

You might also try going into the settings all the way to the last page and update the 2ds xl system itself then you can update the minecraft game.this is what we had to do.
