Mysa - Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat - White

Super easy to set up and install. Love the interface and app to schedule routines.

I've been using this for about a month. This is the 2nd generation baseboard thermostat. It was simple to install for our 240V baseboard that we're using in a bathroom. It has three cables: Line1 , load and Line2. The only problem I had installing is that had the line and load reversed, and did not turn on. After swapping the cables it worked with no issues. The thermostat is installed in two pieces: All the high voltage remains inside the electric box, and the controller board snaps on top once the backplate is screwed in. Once installed all the high voltage is sealed. The thermostat uses a relay to control the load, so there's a slight click when on. Initial programming was very simple using the Mysa app and Apple Home (HomeKit) in my case it was very straightforward. After configuring it through the app, I can control it via Apple Home and also added integrations for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and IFTTT. It can be controlled from either platform via cloud connections to Mysa's server, except for HomeKit that uses local connections. The front panel is glass, which can be set to remain off when there is no one near it (It has a sensor). It then illuminates with white dots from behind the glass that form a low-res matrix, which shows the direction arrows (up for warmer, down for colder) and the temperature reading. Tapping on the arrow one can adjust the temperature. The touch controls are a tad slow. Holding the glass where the button is, the changes go a bit faster. Everything else is controlled via the app or via the 3rd party integrations. Control from the phone is quick and the app is simple. Installing it via Apple Home was very simple. HomeKit pairing is done via NFC on the right left corner. When setting it up via HomeKit, it configures Wi-Fi if it hasn't been installed via the Mysa app first, so very well integrated. Controlling it via Apple Home doesn't require an internet connection. All other methods require one. I asked Mysa customer support about Matter support and they replied very quickly and in a friendly manner they told me they're looking into it. Matter works very much like HomeKit but with every other home automation system, as well, simultaneously, so it also doesn't require an internet connection to work. Also note that it also has a humidity sensor, which shows up on Apple Home as a sensor. With the Mysa app one can set schedules and see consumption charts as well. Overall, works very well and the design is minimalistic and looks nice

First Impression - An economical smart thermostat that works with or without a C-Wire ! - Upon opening the box I removed the thermostat and carefully detached it from it's mounting plate. It includes the standard warranty registration reminder and some instructions. It is well packed and icluded a getting started guide. First use - I set this up on my test bench and powered it up to check that it's functioning correctly prior to installing it in my main attic. Yes, I actually plan to use this to control an attic fan system that has a normal on/off trigger. I plan to set limits and schedules based on a high range of temps ( Start over 90F ). Prior to committing to this project use - I hooked it up to the split unit controls I have to heat and cool and small shop. I wanted to test out the mobile app / settings and make sure the internal wireless antenna had a good level of signal ! First installation and testing - I had no issues at all trigging heat or cool with a split unit that can act as either an air conditioner or a heat pump. It connected to my wireless without issue where the primary access point is far across the house. Second Installation - I added a transformer to supply current full time to the unit - My attic fan systems do not supply a "C" wire, they only accept triggering to run them. The app - I installed the spp on IOS and waded through the initial setup and test. I had the thermostat setup within a few minutes and was able to control it easily. I decided to try it out on my android tablet as well - no issues with that setup either. Overall - Simple to use, easy to tie into a standard HVAC system or your own custom projects. The application for setup and control works well and is simple to use. I would very much recommend this if you considering replacing a non-smart thermostat. We already have for our split zone primary units and the savings can be very significant ! What I love: It works exactly as expected ! Settings are stored somewhere ? - A power reset does not phase it ! Room for improvement: Please offer in other colors !

Received the Mysa In-Floor thermostat to replace another "Name-Brand" tha I have had in my home for about 5 years. Main problem I was trying to solve is that the "other brand" sometimes turned on by itself after a power failure, and in a remote house that was a big problem. Mysa is a much more elegant thermostat. Easy to install, simple interface. Obviously with WiFi, can be controlled remotely (the other name brand has a wifi version but felt Mysa more elegant for a residential installation). Switching & installing was easy with the exception that connecting the floor heater sensor to the thermostat terminal was surprisingly difficult. Sensor wire is typically very thin and malleable, and the terminal port is sort of awkward to get to (and tiny), so threading the spindly wire into the terminal was a challenge. Once done though, connected to wifi and the android app seamlessly, and I can now remote control and turn off (and on) the floor heater. Three more suggestions (1) Mysa should try to help identify the proper floor sensor setting by showing a list of floor heater makers and the appropriate sensor settings (2) Mysa should include a tiny screwdriver for the floor sensor terminal screws, they are much smaller than what a typical household screwdriver would fit, and (3) their documentation for the app is in the form of faqs and can be sort of not helpful for a holistic overview or for specific questions. Granted the app is fairly intuitive, but for example, for the simple question of "how do I turn off the power to the floor heat", it is not completely clear what actually achieves that. There is a FAQ answer on the website, but those instructions don't actually match the app (maybe it matches the iOS app?).

I got the Mysa thermostat since I had an old one and it was very easy to replace, much easier than I thought. The instructions are easy to follow, just download the application and install the thermostat and then just program it. I just had to connect to my Wi-Fi to get the best of it. The thermostat is well packaged and it comes with wire nuts and mounting screws to make it easier. I really like how simple and clean the front of the thermostat looks, it is an awesome improvement. And using the application from anywhere I am is a huge plus since I can change the temperature before arriving, or schedule it as well. I do like the adaptive brightness because it is not super bright at night, I like that improvement. The soft touch control is great, especially if I don’t want to use the app. Finally one of the best things I like is the control using the assistant, I do not need to even use my phone, I have a speaker that controls several smart products and this is another one added to it. Overall I really like it, not only does it look much better having it on the wall, it is smart and efficient.
