My house has well water. This filter removes the funky taste. We have had a couple bad filters and after researching online, it seems to be common enough to mention. We use filtered water for coffee and pets and to stay hydrated so we go through about 5 pitchers a day and it does last almost 6 months.

Very easy to remove and reinstall. I was wary of knockoffs based on reviews from a certain South American rainforest website, so I went with BestBuy since this was where I bought my fridge. Was not disappointed.

It is what it is. Not bad at all, unfortunately you are pretty much limited to this model of you have their refrigerator.

Says it removes 50 impurities Find a better Filter Unless this filter is "defective" and a one off, I would definitely find another one and test it, and look for other brands to test. I tested the one we got with a very good ppm detector for water, and it removed less than 5% of the detected chemicals. No way would I drink this "filtered" water. See the pics of before and after ppm's after filtering. (parts per million)

It says in the instructions to use continuously for a few gallons to make sure all the black particles get cleared out. Well I have used more than 10 gallons and there are still always black particles in my water. I think I got a defective one and it feels like I wasted my money.
