Will the speaker work if I don’t have any other google smart devices?

You will need to set it up using the Google Home app in your phone/tablet and you can use most of its features, including asking it questions, playing games, playing music, adjusting volume, and much more. Answered by spotsy79I do use the Nest mini to play spotify, also does answer questions. Tells you Jokes , weather, news etc.You can set alarms, timers. It will tell how long it takes to you drive to wherever. Pretty much most anything. Dont have a Echo Dot so I am not aware of what its features are. Probably the same thing I am assuming.
