On a DX format camera the Maximum Angle of View is 90°. If you are shooting with a DX format camera, you may also wish to consider the AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens which is a DX format lens with a Maximum Angle of View of 109°.

Answered by NikonStaffIt is a very fast lens (f/2.8) lens which would be great for sports but you would have to get much too close to fill the camera frame. Better options would be the 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8
