I have mostly played single player, but this game plays well and is enjoyable on the switch. The map is made of region tiles, which must be explored to remove the fog of war from that space. This requires an explorer unit to move into the fog and spend time doing an action. There are building slot limits, New tiles must be settled before building can occur there, but again the slots per tile are limited. Every time you settle a new tile, it takes more resources. More resources are needed in winter, making the seasonal change important. Skirmish mode is more fun than the campaign, like most RTS titles. the campaign is restricting and story is lack luster, making it almost feel like an after thought, or more correctly, a tutorial that overstays its welcome.

This game really hits the spot for my RTS itch. I love the thinking and intensity or RTS a games and Northgard hits the spot. Typically it's hard to find a good RTS for consoles because the traditional interface really requires a mouse and key board. Northgard uses a system that involves assigning villagers to buildings instead of selecting villagers combined with a wheel based menu system. It all works well. My one complaint is there is very little help in the game that explains where menus and information can be found or what the many different icons mean. The story mode explains concepts and strategies well but often misses details on how to actually do things are check on the status of you village. Fortunately this is nothing google can't solve so it really didn't impact my enjoyment a alot.

Good game, best rts for the switch so far. Wish you could build a bigger army.

A rare game that had a low printing, worth picking up and adding to any Nintendo Switch Collectors. Not many games from these developers get a physical release.

Liked this game. Reminded me of a game I used to play a lot “Age of Empires.” Would recommend to a friend.

Literally the only RTS game on switch in a physical game cartridge. If you like RTS games then give this a try.

The game can definitely get difficult in the story mode. I think its better in hand held mode as the size of text is quite small on the television.

Unusual RTS that works perfectly on consoles. The campaign was great but multiplayer seems impossible. but the game is short
